Loved that Amanda came back at the last hour for the new dub. Can't help but miss the motherly inflection and quality that Brina provided for Rei back then, though.

I LOVE the way she sounds in the Amazon dub, despite not liking the script. The slight raspiness sounds fitting.

Why is no one talking about Ryan’s portrayal? It’s easily the best out of all of them.

I honestly think all the actors turned in really good performances. Also, it's hilarious to look at this scene between the two versions and realize that basically the only difference is that the old version covered Rei's mouth to save on animation costs.

Amanda Winn-Lee has a really wonderful voice! I'm glad I got to meet her in person last year!

The dub voices sound really weird to me. I'm so used to Megumi's voice

ngl, getting Amanda back for the Amazon dub hits my nostalgia glands so hard I can almost forgive the Dan Kanemitsu-ized script/direction.

I appreciate that they got Amanda Winn-Lee back in the Amazon dub, but like with Allison Keith-Shipp I feel like her age is definitely showing; her voice sounds a lot more whispery now than it used to.

WOW Amanda Winn Lee’s voice changed A LOT in the last 24 years. She used to sound virtually identical to Brina Palencia, but now, I hate to say it, but she sounds too old to be doing this part. Not unlike Mark Hamill still trying to play the Joker. Maybe she just chose to play the part a little differently this time…I don’t know.

i feel like amanda does such a good job as rei and listening to her for the amazon dub is just so good. like exactly how it needs to be delivered.

her in adv dub is also really good don’t get me wrong but all that experience under her belt just gives a better delivery

While I love how Brina did Rei, Amanda was a joy to hear again.

I love Amanda's voice of Rei the best! It's so unique in being really smooth and soothing yet slightly raspy. Of-course I might be biased since Amazon's rebuilds were my intro to Eva, but I cannot imagine watching it differently. Other VA's, while good are a bit generic. They could pass as many characters, but Amanda is the true Ayanami!
