Why Tailed Beasts Are Not Weaker Without a Jinchuriki

There is a misconception in the Naruto fandom that Tailed Beasts are weaker without a Jinchuriki. However, that is not the case. A Bijuu without the Jinchuriki host does not suffer a nerf in its power. This is a misconception spread by Deidara in a filler episode in Naruto Shippuden.

In this video we will dispell this misconception using the lore established in the Naruto series, and we will use examples such as Naruto and Kurama, Killer Bee and Gyuki, Yagura and Isobu, as well as other facts important to the history of the Tailed Beasts. The Nine Tails and The Eight Tails become exceptions to this rule at a certain point, but usually tailed beasts will not be weaker without a Jinchuriki.

What's the worst Naruto misconception?

It's a retcon. Deidara said the same thing in the manga. The original idea that was Tailed Beasts weren't sentient, they were just mindless animals, and so the Jinchuriki could use their power more effectively than they themselves could.

This was retconned in the war arc, but the original intent was that Shukaku and Kurama (and the rest of the Tailed Beast) could only speak because they had human hosts.

That Deidara scene was absolutely not filler and existed in the manga

I mean, every beast is locked in his prision bars...

Except bee, he spit the bars while fighting...

This statement by Deidara IS In the manga, DygoKnight. It happens in Chapter 318.

Unless it's a perfect Jinjurikki a normal Bijuu is stronger.
An advantage to Jinjurikki is a bit of extra Chakra from host and Jutsu.
Also Bijuu despite how they are beings of raw energy.

Maybe that was just an assumption by Deidara since he doesn't actually know much about the tailed beast. Actually most people from the Naruto verse only think of them as massive chakra beasts that run havoc to villages. Deidara was no exception.

They could have just said that being stuck inside of Yagura and witnessing the atrocities through his eyes could have warped Isobu’s mind, causing him to be violent and aimless from the mental scars which would have said a lot since we found out later that he was one of the more calm biju.

There’s always a better reason for things if you think about it, but anime workers are usually put on a tight schedule so… 🤷🏻‍♂️

The 9 tails alone would have been enough to counter this. Naruto is no where near as powerful to destroy mountains showing with a host so young the power is sealed away.

Yugito was also a perfect jinchuruki. She learned that from the same village as Bee

Deidara actually said the same thing in the manga in Character 318. Also, Jin are stronger than Bijuu because they can channel and focus the Bijuu’s chakra in human. Obito states this went he becomes stable as Juubi Jin. That as a Jin he is far more powerful than regular Juubi.

I wish we’ve seen the Bijuu fight against the alliance and maybe summoned by the Juubi instead of the Juubi minime monsters, they were so underwhelming when they fought against Naruto and Bee, it’s unfortunate cause they all had unique design and abilities

Shukaku was lot waker when seald in Gaara. All it took to defeat him was for Gaara to be waken up. He had literal weak point on his forehead.

I think it’s better to think about this as an in universe misconception. Deidara is just stating what’s considered common knowledge.

I think that for deidara's fighting style a tailed beast without a jinchuriki seems weaker because he just threw his bombs and Isobu is so massive that couldn't dodge them.

My guy just completely glossed over the fact that Obito himself stated that when he regained his sanity after he became the host of the 10 tails that he was more powerful because he can focus the Ten Tail’s power now
It’s not that the railed beast are weaker without a host, the host is simply able to focus their power correctly enabling more power to come out

If you read anything about the Biju and Jin you’ll be left disappointed and confused.
Like ten tails was split to stop it’s rampage. So why split half of its power into Kurama? Is it ever states it’d be impossible to make like 80 Shukaku? A 12 year old and a frog could beat up Shukaku

Yes a jinchuriki should be stronger by default because:
- more chakra since 2 in 1
- access to justsus other than bijudama
- 2 minds that can interact, which can help against genjutsus
- chakra cloak/fake body instead of an actual body when damaged
- it also depends on the host, im mean just imagine if hashirama had the ninetails sealed inside him, are you still gonna claim the ninetails alone is equal to that?😅

So not necessarily significantly physically stronger, (usually... depends on who the host is) but having access to more abilities should make them more difficult to deal with by default. I mean for real who would win? Nine tails, or ninetails with shadow clone jutsu?😅

Totally out of nowhere...
i was thinking, what if Danzo awakens Mangekyo Sharingan?
Would every eye on his body become one?
And would he get like 20 different Mangekyo abilities?
I don't know why this thing came to my mind.

I think a problem is that Kishimoto intended the Kyubii to be a one-off creature and dint' realzie until the end of part 1 what he wanted out of them.
