Gentlemen, if you’re training for girls, try to accept early on that you’re going to attract a a lot more other guys

0:22 When the only reason you started working out is that one time when you were like, 8, your Grandma saw your lifting all the grocery bags for her and said "That's a strong boy" thank you Grandma, you were a true lifting inspiration

Working out to stop the voices in your head or becoming addicted to the pain is not so uncanny, it is part of becoming stronger

As an ADHD kid, this is one of the few things I do in life that has consistency
As someone who experienced arrested development, there's so much things I missed out in my younger years, so living longer by staying younger is the only way I can re-experience the things I missed out.

A lot of people workout to fight depression. Mad respect to them

Not a masochist but I love the feeling of pain after intense running. Makes me feel like I'm putting in the work. Am a runner btw

I started working out in the April lockdown of 2020 because I realised I ate like shit and was lazy. I realised the only reason I was thin was because I just had a really fast metabolism, it was not reflective of my actual health.

So I started eating better and working out and I am so pleased I did. I’m a lot bigger now and it has made me far more confident within myself. Since then I’ve put on about 12 kg of muscle and I’m now 78kg. Might also sound stupid to some but I also did it for golf because I was getting more serious about it and wanted to get more power in my swing but be strong enough that my lower back and knees don’t pay for it in the long term. I’ve gained over 100 metres in driving distance (I now average 277m or about 302 yards) since then and have gone from a 28 handicap to 7 with the only thing holding me back being my short game.

Let’s keep working to continue realising our fitness goals guys, and new personal fitness barriers!

“Because nothing else is meaningful”

^applies to me a lot. I haven’t found happiness in a while. Got off of substances and alcohol recently. Gym and running outside gives me the most mental clarity. It helps a lot to deal with the depression/anxiety and actually gives me more confidence to search for more meaning in other hobbies outside of the gym. Whenever I am lazy or feel depressed to do something, I just go to the gym to help me cope. After the gym and the touching out the mental block, I usually come back energized to study something my prior negative mindset convinced me that I couldn’t do before

I love the gym. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me in my life.

My real reasons to workout; plain and simple:
1. To be healthy.
2. To get myself a girl.
3. To look and feel stronger.
4. To be in a good mental (and emotional) state.
5. Be more confident.
6. Make myself look good.

As someone who has been dealing with depression and suicide thoughts and is using exercise as a way to cope, this is pretty spot on.
