Razor bumps are common in men with thick beard and also in women who shave side burns.
Here are a few ways to avoid razor bumps:

✅Always shave in direction of hair
Reverse shaving can cause in grown hair and razor bumps. If you have thick facial hair and want a clean look, then using a facial trimmer will be a better option than reverse shaving.

✅If you are having red bumps or pustules , then using a disposable razor is a good option. If not, then you can sterilise the blade in an antiseptic solution like Dettol for 10 mins . Rinse the antiseptic off and then use it.

✅Always apply foam or moisturiser before shaving.
Never dry shave. Dry shaving leads to micro cuts in the skin. This is a conduit for bacteria to enter and cause infection.

✅Use Aloe Vera gel or a moisturiser after shaving.
Post care is important Antiseptic after shaves have alcohol and can be very dry and irritating to the skin. So avoid them. Instead use a soothing moisturiser with aloe Vera or ceramides in them.

Moisturizer before shaving is the worst thng i did and i started getting bumps only since 😮.. years of shaving i never got bumps.. but only i used it once after watching some influencer and ended up with it.. so i may prefer a foam, but never a kousturizer.. when i checked with my derm after examining, she said for some people it could clog the pores.. leading to bumps and folliculitis, even though no infection..
