I isolate myself saying that I need time to heal my insecurities which cripple me from talking or seeking a mentor. I pretend to be secular than Catholic because I don't want to look like I'm struggling and admit that I have insecurities. Lord, help me.

I just want to add that we need to be careful also to whom we entrust our spiritual lives, and private issues, to; because people are never perfect and they will disappoint one way or the other, and so first and foremost Jesus Himself is our Spiritual Mentor and let God reveal if we actually need one. Sometimes learning through the Mass, confessions, regular prayers, homilies, lectures, suffice to help us over the years, not instantly, and instant things are never assured signs of true change. I think people today are afraid to be alone, or perhaps to be seen as lonely, but each person has different needs and ways on the path to holiness. By attending Mass regularly and praying every day, you will be helped and God will guide you to where you need to go and who you need to see.

This video came at the right time for me. I am starting to discern the priesthood and religious life, and this advice is so useful for my current state of life!

First, hearing Timothy and Paul in the same sentence is just mind blowing.

Secondly, I'm glad to have run into this video. No matter how many times I struggle with the common things, at the end of the day... my relationship with the Big Man is what matters. There is a quote in Sikhism: "before becoming a Muslim, a Sikh, a Hindu, or a Christian, let’s become a Human first." Basically, before we even decide to become mentors ourselves, let's make sure that the experiences that people go through have wisdom they gain from such experiences. I know for a fact that I'm looking forward to being a mentor one day, yet I still pray for that mentor to come and be my life coach.

God Bless to you all, or as I say in Sikhi, Raab Rakha.

This a great mention however!! God has put me in isolation alone with him only and not have a mentor. And that’s ok to be “alone” with out humans on my road not that I don’t want it it just hasn’t happened and that’s ok too. Love a mentor and love the isolation too. God is there either way!!

For all my life I had to educate myself alone, all the persons whose role was to educate my faith did exactly the opposit. I'm grateful God provided me of the sufficient grace to keep the faith. Indeed to have a spiritual mentor is a great grace and privilege.

Not everyone needs or desires a mentor persay. I have a great group of friends that keep each other in line - not all catholic, but atleast Christian. We discuss and pray about things together - but we don’t see each other as “mentors”. We are friends walking side by side.

Thanks for this video. I agree with you a hundred percent. Specially in this era, a lot of people, in every age needs a mentor. I am a Catholic Life Coach and my most powerful tool in my mentoring is Listening Prayer. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻My mission is to help single women to find their one true love and wait joyfully for their God given partner.🥰❤️🙏🏻

In nursing school we called it ‘shadowing’ the RN for the entire shift…literally walking alongside them.

Mentorship is interesting because you can be gifted in some areas and completely deficient in other areas. Very essential, good advice.
Thank you, Jackie + Bobby.
Peace😊

“In Jesus' day, discipleship literally involved following a rabbi from town to town, context to context, in and out of a myriad of circumstances...Not only did you want to know their wisdom, but you wanted to become like them in all ways...This was the only way that the disciple could end up thinking like, and living like, the one to whom he committed his life.” ~Jeff Cavins, The Activated Disciple

A Spiritual Mentor not only shows you the way, but explores it with you. ❤️
