How to Tell if Someone is Rich

Sometimes you just want to know if someone is rich or not. Some of our friends are keeping a secret! For good reason as rich people probably do not want to get targeted or taken advantage of just like anyone. But there are plenty of signs that can point to someone's wealth aside from the obvious house, car, and jewelry. These more subtle signs of wealth can be a lot more reliable when you combine all of them togther.

funny, I stopped caring about this kind of stuff ever since I started learning about FIRE, etc. You never know someone's personal wealth situation. It's all hidden no matter what. Even people who fly first class could be in crippling debt and people wearing old sweatpants can be multimillionaires. Treat everyone with respect and kindness, we are all people just trying to do what we can.

Don't play the rat race, most people think I'm poor. Always paperbag lunches, drove dumpy reliable cars. On the rare occassion I tell others of my decades as a world traveller, nobody believes. I experience economic/ social discimination in my lowly positions. I discretely attained FIRE in 2004 yet worked various jobs til 2020 retirement.The cat's out the bag once my cash flow is observed.

Another sign someone is rich is the illusion of extreme minimalism. If you're visiting someone's house and you see nothing at all in any of the cupboards or drawers. Not even an extra paper towl roll.🤔 🤯
This means that the person is so rich they keep their stuff in multiple buildings or homes. They have the luxury of keeping lots of supplies in a nother building detached from their homes and getting one item out at a time living in an extremely clean space. They don't care about having extra supplies in their home because they can just buy it where ever they are when ever they need it regardless of the price. Infact your probobly staying in an extea vacation home with minimal supplies. Where as us lower and middle class people only have one home or apartment to put our items and we are worried about having extra supplies, saving money, using things for multiple purposes and have way too much stuff in our homes making them messy.

Most rich people who worked hard to earn and accumulate the money are very frugal. They may buy some nice things for themselves, but will pay cash for it. But, they won't blow their money on things they don't need. They buy things that are reasonable in cost in relation to their earnings.

Most wealthy will not borrow money and pay interest. They will never allow themselves to get in to dept. Rich people like to look like they are ordinary. If they buy something that is a luxury item they will not want to show it off.

Genuinely wealthy people seek life experiences, not objects, since objects can effortlessly be purchased but experiences require investment of time and money, and are often the most memorable. You can reach a point where you have amassed whatever objects that you want (within reason) but can never experience all that this world has to offer in one lifetime.
