I think everyone should go through this process. Healing is so important.

Therapists have to be REALLY careful with this one, depending on the circumstances.

I attract these people but never have I ever thought I could change/save them. They think they can save me but learn that I can't be saved. I can do bad all by myself without anyone's help. Their help always leads to bad things always

In the hospital I was forced to drink let alone hold down a medication that was like thickened cherry kool-aid and it made me feel so sick I didn’t want to eat my meals. If I spit it out or refused it I would get held down by a security team and given a shot no matter how politely I refused. I actually was very polite when I refused the disgusting liquid, but they didn’t budge so I had to try to slip through the people giving it to me so I can politely walk away and that’s when they called security guards. I then was constantly forcing myself to throw up because of the stuff, and I really wanted to get off the stuff. Because I was only 16 or so years old I was in the children’s wing when it happened and the doctors even put me in a padded room and made me shake my undergarments like they’re pedophiles. All these horrible things were blamed on my behavior but I knew I was being polite and I was not even that bad of a kid. Yet this stuff happened anyway..

My father was a NPD ..I tend to attract guys on the narcissist scale, romantically. But I tried that kind of therapy which I found more damaging because it felt like it reinforced the abuse to begin with.

Many codependents attach to narcissists thinking they can have a corrective emotional experience with the narcissist or give this to the narcissist when they themselves are not healed and broken. Find people who do not harm you with deception and who do not use you or do not see you as something they disrespect.

And then the therapist cuts you off as soon as you run out of money.

I advise you not to Diagnose people without a professional profile. Many mental health issues resemble their behavior.

This explanation is really not in allignment with what happens naturally. The question wasn't asking about wether a therapist could do it, but wether its normal when it does happen. Geez

When we geow up with parents who treat us a certain way, to achild that is what love then looks like and then we grow up and we still have that same kind of live map ingrained in us. We get attracted to those kind of people because thats what feels familiar, thats what feels like home.

This is just wishful thinking. Don't waste your money or time on this kind of therapy. It's not always good to go back to relive the past, you can end up traumatized even more!
