His response to Miles "Yeah. What of it?" Really hits for me. Like how Peter Parker masks his pain with optimism and jokes, Hobie masks his pain with his cynicism and anarchist personality. Damn.

I love how Hobie and Miguel never get along. Miguel represents the same regime he took down, and Spider Punk does not like consistency 🫠.

Fun fact:
The same thing was in the comics where hobie brown quit being spiderman

I think it had something to do with the Gwen Stacy in his universe. Our Gwen plays drums, and so did Hobie's. She was his idol, and when they became friends he learned she was also an anarchist. Then she got hurt when they were doing anarchy activities and her death was his canon event. Had she not died, she and Hobie were likely to have gotten romantically involved. That's why he treats our Gwen so nicely.

There are so many references to that “Spider Man No More” cover. You scan probably make a whole compilation about it

Especially when Miguel Spider-Man 2099 is being that annoyingly stressful manager at a horrible minimum wage paying job you want to fight on a daily basis for constantly riding your nerves.
Like my dude nobody wants to constantly keep losing loved ones while being Spider-Man, Peter Parker Spider-Man struggled enough let him live a good life.

It’s crazy how They showed Andrew in the movie for a sneak peek in the cannon events

Hero: *sacrifices everything for a greater good*

Miles and his crew: *fucks the universe and timeline just to do whatever they want*

"...It's already a pain in the @ss to live as a normal human being." Sure it is, Mr. Hugh Mann Not-a-bot.

This is probably a older version of Hobie brown as in the comics there is a change in personality vs in the movie and it’s most likely because somebody in his band died even though he mentions that he’s in a band remeber he pretends to be a shallow person and if you pay attention he’s one of the deepest characters in the movie and Hobie has two sides and he’s very complicated so I’ve come to the conclusion that this is just the older Hobie brown and he’s moved on from being spiderman and he’s already killed Norman Osborn and killed him after he was infused with a robot and pretty much far in the future and during that he’s changed

I did a hell bunch of research on Hobie when the movie first came out, and it’s not particularly his canon event, but I’ll go through what I know is real (from old comics where he was either Spider-Punk or The Prowler) and some of my headcanons;

Originally, Hobie wasn’t even called “Hobie, ” but instead his name was “Hobart Brown.” He was the original Prowler, where I believe, if I’m not wrong, he fought Spider-Man in one of the comics. Hobie lost, but Spider-Man chose to let him live, leaving Hobie to reconsider his choices and become more or less of an anti-hero.
During his childhood, Hobie had nine other siblings, being the youngest of them. Hobie’s father, (Tiger Brown) had left the family behind when Hobie was a baby, leading his mom to fall into alcoholism, leaving Hobie and the rest of his siblings to essentially raise themselves.

(The following is my own personal headcanon;) Hobie, as he grew older, was often in arguments with his mom, fed up with her neglect and dismissive behaviour of her own children. One of those arguments led to Hobie’s, likely not so sober, mom, kicking him out of their home despite his attempts to knock some sense into her. (end of headcanon, rest is canon :])
During that time, Hobie was around thirteen to fourteen, now a homeless teenager out on the streets. One of those days, he was sleeping by a cardboard box out in an alleyway, when police came because Hobie had illegally trespassed a private property (if I’m not wrong.) Hobie was then chased down, accidentally falling into a toxic waste with a spider, that then bit him, thus becoming Spider-Punk.

Now, during the timeline of when Across The Spiderverse takes place, he lives on a canal boat together with the rest of his anarchic squad, which also serves as his headquarters.

Where's the sad part? All the spiders at one point or another thought about quitting.
