This is a deleted scene where Dunbar is informed that the whole village has heard that he and Stands With A Fist have plans to marry. Because he is considered poor by Sioux standards, the whole tribe pitches in for wedding gifts on his behalf. He waits overnight to see if Kicking Bird has accepted them, a sign that he approves.

I loved that interaction betweem DWW amd Blackshaw. She saw the willingness of the village to give anythjng they could to DWW. She saw how much he was loved...and what an amazing heart/soul he must have. She said all of that witbout uttering a single word

in the scene before john dunbar gave out rifles that saved the village from being wiped out in the pawnee attack. how could anyone not want to help out after that.
