The problem is that the US claims to be 'fighting for democracy' but acting like a global dictator in practice..

That a US senator says, about China, "they are eating our lunch" shows the immense scorn of this guy for Latin American countries. If I were american I would be ashamed and if latino-american I would feel insulted. This alone could explain the failure of US policy.

As a Latin American it pains so much, *so much*, that the world powers talk about us as lunch, dispensable, and irrelevant trading commodities

As a European I DESPISE American foreign policy. They are so self-righteous it's just grotesque.

The American adminstrations for the laz 30 years has a "disconnection" problem. Here's an example given by the lndonesian Foreign Minister ... "China ( Wang Yi ) came with gifts and asked 'What do you need?'. America ( Blinken ) came empty handed and TELL US to contain China." China focus on what lndonesia needs, US focus on what itself want at the expense of others. Who do you think lndonesia will lean to?

Latin America is not the US' or anyone's backyard. No place should be labeled this, but I got what you meant given the context. Great video! Your channel is getting a lot of views recently and I'm glad that more people in the USA are listening to you.

There's Afghanistan for example, china managed to get the trade of resources from them without firing a single bullet, just by being friendly to them and respecting them

Famous American brands are disappearing from Brazil: Ford left the country after a century of production. Apple registers first loss in sales in Brazil in 2023. And even the traditional North American allies: Toyota (Japan), Volkswagen (Germany), Hyundai (South Korea) are paralyzing production. The consumer electronics market is dominated by China.

I am from Brazil and the History of US actions in this region has very little to do with improving democracy and human rights. It's pretty much the contrary. China in the other hand does not seems to care about anything except business.
China in the last 4 os 5 years has become our biggest economic partner with 2 times the volume of trade if we consider our trade with US and they want more.

I'm a Jamaican who has lived in the US for 24 years, and Cuba is only 90 miles from us. We love Cuba and the Cuban people.
America has strangled the Cuban economy for the last 40+ years, and that couldn't break them, and America has sponsored the worst and bloodiest election in Jamaican history, by giving the opposition guns, because the other side were close to Cuba.
America has done nothing but brain drain my country, and explore it for cheap labor, now I can proudly say that China has been building much needed infrastructure in our country, and its a good look.
America actually took notice as to what has been happening, and wanted to make their presence felt, so they sent an admiral of the navy to deliver their message. Not a diploma, someone from the military.

Message received loud and clear, and we are pressing ahead full steam. We may live in your backyard, but the land that we are on is ours.

Referring to Latin America as their “lunch” shows the level of disrespect the US has.

Your statement that america is a two party system at this time is inaccurate. Both parties are essentially the same entity. Paid for by the same donors. Controlled by the same donors. There is currently no discernible "democracy" in america.

As Argentinian I can say that China presence here is do to the US favouring UK relationships down in the Atlantic. The UK doesn't want investments to come to Argentina so they pressure the US not to invest here in anything. I remember that China offered to build and invest on a sea port in our province of Tierra del Fuego so our ships could travel easier our goods, the ambassador of the US along side the female general came all the way down here to order our Governor to say "no" to China, so he ask them and offer the US to invest on the infrastructure and they responded that "the US isn't interested in that project and we don't want to ruin our relationship with the UK our closest ally" so there you all go. China wins.

As a Brazilian, I have only one thing to say,

the USA sees us as a colony, China sees us as a future ally.

Last time two superpowers began looking at Latin America as a power struggle to gain more support we had a wave of US-supported coups and dictatorships. In Argentina, up to 30.000 people went missing due to the will of keeping other ideology off their "backyard", one of many countries affected by Plan Condor to keep the Soviets out. Over 80.000 people confirmed killed or missing, according to surveys found in Paraguay. Almost two decades of repression and fear in the south cone.

It does seems history's destined to repeat.

I'm a Mexican who just learned that the US's department of state is financing our current government's opposition. We have struggled for decades of corruption and fraud in all sectors, and we just recently were able to vote for better party, and the US is trying to undermine that because it's against their interests. That, among many, many other reasons, is why our president is so angry with the US, and so are we.
