What is done in the dark will come to the light.

They can't accept that your value trumps their entitlement. I've seen this cognitive dissonance disconnect in a few people. You are an object to be used. They will never accept that you can be shown respect

I have witnessed splitting in numerous people. Hence, the demonic stare and the flipping of the switch, the sudden making you the mortal enemy.
If you have decided not to tolerate poor behavior, this is a typical narcissistic reaction.

I've only seen it once and it was from my aunt's former husband and he was telling me and my bf at the time abt how lazy he thought my disabled cousin was. 😐
I said the Lord's prayer in my head b/c I literally thought I was seeing a demon manifest.
What made it even more scary at the time was that he was talking like a normal stepdad joking around and he was even smiling but his eyes told a different story. Like how can someone be smiling and talking in an upbeat tone and have those dead eyes at the same time?!

Fortunately a year after that my aunt got divorced and was safe. This was 2 decades ago and she has since moved on and found an AMAZING man.

Narcism comes in all different shapes, sizes, and skin color.

Thank you for this great explanation of their terrifying black stare.

My own father did this to me, then a few years later made a false ranting alert to Child Protective Services about my autistic son.

This teaching is SOOO crucial.
Thankyou!
I tend to have been a little naive or not always good at guaging people in this life, I think possibly.

Them demons be popping out and showing their a$$. My ex shocked me with that many of times. Especially when I said no to her ridiculous demands.

All hobgoblins can and will do it but BPDs do it more frequently and it's much more visible and scary in them by far. This is a commonly known and often discussed feature routinely found in both these hobgoblins and gargoyles alike. Except nobody and I mean no one mentions that this metamorphosis is physically impossible for a Human to achieve. The Pupil is what expands and contracts in the Human Eye not the Iris where color lies. The Pupil's outside diameter is strictly limited to the inside diameter of the Iris and cannot exceed it. For a Narcissist's eyes to go black the Pupil must expand out to even cover the Sclera or "Whites of the Eyes." In other words, you can't pour a gallon into a quart jar here on Earth Science and Physics just won't allow it. It doesn't work that way. Recovering Empaths should concern themselves more with the "Hows" and not so much the "Whys" or "Whens" these hobgoblins can manifest these morphs at will.

My beautiful little girl who was the sweetest most loving teen then in her 21st year, I seen her get maybe, quiet, depressed??... something different by age 31 she is a completely different person who I am terrified of. She is NOT the same person. She is HORRIBLE. I cry for the person she was and is completely gone 😢

I remember someone I know staring at me with a look of dominance and telling me: “Your boyfriend is probably better at handling money than you are”. It was so terrifying. Not what was said, but it felt like the person totally switched to an evil domineering character for a second.

Do covert narcissists give this look too? Or do covert narcissists hide it better

I met a guy once i was travelling for my job and i didnt recognize he was a narcissist, he trapped me, locked me in his room to talk to me, got weirdly physical and i was dealing with anorexia at the time, my mind was a bit floggy cause i wasnt eating, he saw that i was anorexic and manipulated me for 3 days to trigger my disorder. When he was about to assault me one night i refused staying with him it was really scary the way he snapped... I thought he was going to rp me or something, it was the scariest thing i ever been through while working. I thank god that i was able to confuse him with some talking and i was cold enough to escape the situation. But it has effects on me to this day even if he couldnt do to me all he wanted... Narcs have no soul.

Also, putting someone on a pedestal because of mental health issues and being betrayed by them, snapping as a result, is not narcissistic, but you will be painted as such, particularly by a narcissistic partner and the damage you cause is the same. This is why it's important not to defrinciate sickness from evil because the dangers and results are the same. Objectifying a person is wrong, no matter how high or low you put them. The same applies to the self.

It doesn't always look demonic on every narcissistic. The stare can be directed at you or elsewhere. My ex-husband who stangled me had a demonic stare. My mother just stared in another direction-- not at me, though.

I have heard from others that I have that "stare". am I a narc? or is it a result of being raised by and always dealing with the ramifications of being around a narcissist.??
