You can also inhibit mycelium growth at any stage by vacuum sealing the bag. The mycelium will stay dormant and you can store it indefinitely until ready to use or enable growth by unsealing it. I use with mason jars. I've used mycelium that has been stored for 2 years. I'm the only one in the world to discover this. Welcome. 😁

I don't understand why such effort is taken to be sterile so as not to contaminate the substrate with unwanted spores and then allow air into the bag which may allow it to be contaminatd with spores.

I just inoculated my spawn bag from Midwest grow, it’s been about 2 weeks and it’s been at around 70-75 degrees F, I have been waiting 2 weeks and still have no sign of mycelium growth at all, I did all the steps right and made sure to try to keep it sanitary when doing it all. Is it normal to see no mycelium growth after 15 days or should I just keep waiting?
