Titanic Delete Scene:Boat 6 Come Back to the Ship

Any scene portraying an event that happened on the real Titanic, should not have been deleted from the movie...

This scene should of been left in the film. Historically correct and shows the unorganised and untrained crew on that maiden voyage. This also highlights somewhat the confusion/panic in regards to the boats, due to he fact the lifeboat drill that was scheduled for the morning before the ship sank was actually cancelled, allegedly because Capt' Edward Smith wanted to deliver one last Sunday service before he went into full retirement..

Some may say he got his full retirement, but took some 1, 500 people with him.

What’s even more ironic is that the one who was manning this particular boat was Robert Hitchens, who was at the helm when Titanic struck the berg. Molly Brown kept challenging him and I remember him saying “Out of all the boats she had to be on mine, ” he allegedly refused to go back and help other survivors.

This did in fact happen, Margaret Brown tried to convince the others in boat 6 to go back and pick up survivors, whether she was succesful is unknown to me, but I do know that captain Smith gave up his attempt to recall lifeboats back to pick up any survivors. And the baker did consume a lot of alcohol, which is why he lasted a great while in the freezing water before he saved.

Love this scene!! Everything about it is so atmospheric. It's like really coming across the Titanic in the ocean that night with all the sounds echoing across the water. Why oh why did James Cameron delete this sequence from the final film 🎥 ??

The ride guy on the lifeboat was probably scared he would be removed from the lifeboat and loose his life if they returned to the sinking titanic.

As much as Robert Hichens (the guy arguing with Molly) was a dick, he was suffering PSTD because he was the one behind the wheel when Titanic hit.

Obviously he wasn't to fully blame but he still technically crashed the ship into the iceberg.

My biggest criticism of the James Cameron version is the fictional love story (I know fan girls will be out for my blood for saying that but here me out)

I love the attention to historical details that are in the movie and I wish that whole film was purly focus on the real people who survived or didn't survived the Titanic. Not made up characters and a typical Hollywood romance.

So I get annoyed when I find out a scene like this that shows stuff that actually happened got cut so we could make more room Leo and Kate acting sappy or Billy Zabe acting like a cartoonish disney villain.
