When Ruth sees the mother and daughter among the survivors, she realizes she will never have that again. She screwed up so badly that her daughter chose to stay on a sinking ship rather than continue to live with her. And now there’s nothing she can do but live with regret for the rest of her days. What a moment. It shouldn’t have been removed from the film.

Imagine being Rose at that moment. Waking up from unconsciousness and realising Jack is no more the man who saved her in every instance.

What I love about this is that it's painfully honest. The panic. The hysteria. The fatigue. And everyone looks horrendous - freezing, dishevelled, exhausted, soaking, wind beaten - nothing like how they looked earlier. Such a shame it was deleted as its probably one of the films most authentic moments.

The scene when Carpathia is seen in the sunrise radiates so much hope and shows that life goes on and on.

I got the opportunity to visit the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown museum in Colorado. It was at this time that the real Molly Brown was hit hard with the realization that the survivors who weren't well-off. They literally lost everything and a lot of them also lost a husband who was a provider. She tried to take up a collection for them on the Carpathia. Most of the upper class was apathetic to their situation. Once she got to NY, she continued her cause and actually posted a public list of who did contribute and how much. She also posted who DID NOT contribute. Donations suddenly poured in. Incredible lady portrayed beautifully by the incredible Kathy Bates.

This scene should’ve been in the final cut. It’s gives deeper meaning to the rescue and you can see and feel the peoples emotions

The guilt on Ismay’s face, the look on Ruth’s face when she saw that other mother and daughter together… This scene is so emotionally powerful, it deserves to be in the final cut.

Deleting this scene changed the situation. They took out this scene and it was a powerful one because you can see just how angry and hurt everyone is at Mr. Ishmay for letting the ship sink and losing their loved ones.

The girl at 0:52 is the girl that Cal took with him in order to get on the boat. Great to know that she survived, even if it didn’t make it into the Final Cut.

I can't see Rose's face. It shows the loss of the most dear person in the world. What a talant of an actress. I believe her and my tears fall down every time I immagine her loss at that moment

I must say that this scene is actually one of the best of the movie. Such a pity that it was omitted. It is so powerful and human, especially the several seamen helping Rose boarding the Carpathia. I had always wondered how exactly the passengers could enter the ship, e.g. weakened and disabled persons. You can see sort of a pulley for this purpose. Carpathia's crew did a great job that night and morning.

1:01 you can tell on the faces of all the passengers while Ismay was walking past they were saying ‘How can you survive while our families are dead?’

0:04 when Rose opens her eyes and sees "Carpathia" and realizes it wasn't a dream 😢

The last scene of Ruth looking at the mother and daughter was very heartbreaking 💔

I love the bit with Ismay. I don't think those people knew who he was, most of them weren't even glaring at him but just looking at the walking people, but to Ismay it feels like they are all judging him because of his own guilt pressing on him.

// Also have to remember that this only applies to the movie, as Cameron villanized Ismay a lot in the film. I don't like how Ismay was portrayed overall in this story, but inside the film's own narrative this scene is nice.

The audience blames Rose for not sharing the door. But this scene shows that even with the door, she's so physically fatigued it's actually a miracle she's even alive. She was barely clinging onto life as it is. And Jack knew that, he knew he had to give Rose the highest chances of survival, that's why he let her stay, rest, and be alone floating on that door. Adding more stress would have most likely killed her due to physical shock. Jack wanted her to survive with that slim chance of survival she had left and he did everything he could still do just to increase those chances of survival for her, even if it was only for a little bit.

Honestly if you haven’t, read up on just what the captain and crew and passengers of the Carpathia did to rescue Titanic survivors. Literally everyone on board was preparing medical supplies, blankets, drinks, anything to help survivors with.

The crew had diverted all the power to the engines and dining rooms where hot water was needed, rigged lights to the sides for survivors to see and prepared ropes to help the survivors up.

Meanwhile the captain steered and directed the ship faster than full speed in the pitch dark, avoiding icebergs, racing against time to try and save as many people as they could. The captain himself was a religious man who prayed as he steered and remarked that *”someone’s hand other than mine steered that night”*

Passengers pitched in to help with preparations, gave up their cabins, blankets and clothing for the survivors. Yes a tragedy happened on the ocean that night but something wonderful also happened.

This scene shouldn't have been taken out. Rose getting on the ship after such a difficult experience gives a sense of relief.

Wish they didn’t delete the part where Lowe wraps Rose in a blanket and gives her that cup of tea. It’s such a tiny act of care yet so significant. Like this is the only thing he can do for her. Also the look of concern because he pulled her out of the water, she could have died had he not gone back. And imagine the grief and trauma he’s experiencing after losing his ship, captain, and all but three of his crew mates.
