Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

Everyone talks about Page's electric riffs but his accoustic ones are straight masterpieces

The intro of this song is what inspired me to learn to play guitar, twenty five years ago. To this day, virtually every time that I pick up one of my guitars, I play this song. It is such a joy to play, given all of the hammer-ons and pulls offs required.

If you got to see Zeppelin live in their prime you are one of luckiest people on earth. I'm still trying to create a time machine.

'Houses of the Holy' is an incredible album. And yes, it's one of my favorite LZ song.

Once in your life a band emerges as the premier trend setting band of your era and Led Zeppelin was mine. There have been a lot of mega bands but Led Zeppelin stands on the top of the pile.

The way the song starts off so soft and sweet and then Robert just comes in full force with Bonzo and company right behind him! R.I.P mom always thinking of you when I hear that sweet opening!

I have no idea why I love this song so much. I listen to it non-stop for weeks on end, get sick of it, forget about it, then a couple months later I'm doing it all over again. Weird, gotta love it.

Such a beautiful, whimsical guitar line that transports you over the hills and far, far away.

Im 24 thanks to my 52 yo father this is my number one band. Nobody even touches them. True classics that my generation cant understand because they're brain dead, but this guy here, definitely not brain dead due to discipline.
