Over the Hills and Far Away - Led Zeppelin (acoustic cover)

Houses of the Holy is my favourite Zep album of them all. It seems like almost every branch of rock music can be found on it and the songs themselves are really unique. This track is no exception and I've always loved the transition from acoustic to electric, the solo section and the way it comes in and out is just awesome. Who hasn't wanted to learn this one on an acoustic? That intro is legendary! Also, the vocal part down an octave is non-negotiable, so go easy on me lol. I hope you enjoy!

P.S. One day I will do the Rain Song! ;)

I recently suffered a spinal injury, and am paralyzed on right side, and so I can no longer play my guitars. Although I was never nearly as good as you, I could hold my own with a pick. I so much miss playing, and I get depressed, but listening to your performances, helps me very much. My wife also loves your style. I want you to know how much I enjoy your style, and how, in some ways, you remind me of myself. I very much enjoy your music and I hope that you continue to follow your dreams, and to keep on performing for us.

When you consider that this song was originally played by Page on the guitar, and Plant doing the singing, doing both at the same time is amazing.

First riff I ever learned at 14 years old. Now at 69 I'm working on putting it all together with your incredible acoustic one guitar version. I'm a big fan. Thanks Mucho!

I'm a guitar teacher in Upstate NY and I recently combed through this song to teach a student and I know how hard this tune is. And to live take it the whole way is exceptional work!

I remember seeing, "Song Remains the Same" as a teenager and it cemented my love of all Led Zepplin music. Corey really makes me appreciate this song even more. Fabulous musician!

Wow. I love how clean your notes are. Your vocal style is unique as well. I can hit those high notes but only weakly. It sounds good in your range and style. Very nicely done.

Amazing control over the intricate playing of this and singing in rhythm! The solo parts starting at 2:30 were mind-blowing. Another absolutely incredible cover Corey!

I was specifically looking for an acoustic version of this song and found yours. I was a little nervous as you approached the portion of the song that's usually done with an electric guitar, but you pulled it off masterfully. I'm only about a year into playing, but I'm inspired to take this song on as a long-term project (though probably without the solo), thanks to your performance. Thank you for sharing your wonderful playing with us. Subscribed! UPDATE 8/22/2024: I just wanted to say I joined your Patreon at the Student level and I'm loving it! So many tutorials, including this one! And the details you provide for ever aspect of playing helps me improve not only my understanding and playing of the song, but my overall technique as well. Thank you!
