Why can't we compromise and install cameras into the courtrooms, operated by the court? That way they have full control over where the camera focuses (not solely on the defendant, get proper audio, focus on which lawyer is currently speaking, the judge, etc.) and can also have full editing abilities before providing the footage to the public, allowing them to remove sensitive information, handle evidence with care, and ensure everything is appropriate.

I used to be angry at our justice system and felt it was disgustingly flawed in favor of criminals. It felt like they just got slaps on the wrist. But thanks to you and Emily D. Baker, my perspective has greatly shifted to lean into curiosity and stay unbiased. I'd make a significantly more efficient juror today than I would two years ago before watching you two. And none of that would be possible without cameras in the court.

I'd really like cameras to stay to keep everyone accountable (lawyers, state, police, experts, witnesses and media), while also respecting the problematic behavior of the media focusing inappropriately on the defendant.

It’s never going to feel like something that can be trusted without the cameras.

Media with cameras can be done without compromising anything.

Cameras should be allowed. How many times is a text or email misinterpreted? Cameras will allow that we can hear and see intonation of speech and facial expressions etc

Yes cameras should be in the courtroom. That openness provides insight into the judicial process and helps the general public better understand the evidence and ultimate jury outcome.

Cameras should 100% be in a court room. I went through a trial at young age, an while yes it was not broadcasted on the media a class room of students did come in during one of the days. Not to mention cameras allow the public who can’t actually physically be there, to watch.

I think cameras should be in every courtroom. It would clean up so much corruption. People behave much better when they are on film.

I think cameras SHOULD be in the courtroom, but I don’t think they will be allowed. Court TV (or whomever is recording these pre-trial hearings) messed this up by constantly zooming in on the defendant when told specifically not to do that. Additionally, as in other trials, some witnesses did not wish to appear on camera and the judge allowed that. It’s fine. You can still hear their testimony ‘live’.

The cameras are the eyes and ears of the public in courtrooms where all the seats are taken by the private corporate press.

Camera's, for me, is an absolute must after the Depp trial. The potential jurors have probably watched everything so far. The jurors are NOT allowed to watch anything, as we all know, so what difference does it make if cameras are there are not. I don't understand.

Cameras in the courtroom should be mandatory for all trials

I think they need to do whatever they need to do to ensure him a fair trial. Whether that's cameras or not cameras.

You are awesome for promoting Emily D. Baker. As for this case, I am in the camp with those who are distrustful of mainstream media to report from notes. Time and time again mainstream media has blatantly lied to the public across recent years. So, unless I see it for myself, I'm not believing it. :-) Thanks for all you do in presenting tough cases in a unbiased way.

Peter you do an amazing job!! You have a family, an active law firm trying active cases and provide more in-depth coverage of more cases than any other lawyer on YouTube. You stand out from any other channels on YouTube!! I’m amazed by how well you can balance everything so well!!

I think that there needs to be cameras in the court room. I just wish the people who are controlling the cameras could get their act together and behave responsibly. It doesn’t have to be the way it’s been. Do I believe that they will allow cameras in the quart room? No. I think in the end there is not going to be cameras in the courtroom because the media can’t behave.

This is playing to the choir, to query whether a majority of us who are subscribers to The Lawyer You Know want to be able to see trials. Your audience, by its very nature, is more interested in the legal process than many other people are and would prefer to be able to see and to hear what happens in our courtrooms. By watching both hearings and trials, I have far more of a chance to think independently and to arrive at my own decisions. The presence of camera and audio in court adds greatly to being able to use one's own intelligence, intuition and thoughtfulness about matters of justice. It's very educational to be able to get it "from the horse's mouth." ❤

I think camera's should definitely be in the courtroom! Don't think there will be unfortunately.

This is the same exact thing that happened in the Lori Vallow Daybell trial. Defense motioned that cameras should not be allowed in courtroom. Prosecution agreed. Judge gave both parties what they wanted. We were fortunate to have audio but it’s not the same. I feel like when both parties want it, the judge rules in their favor. There won’t be cameras in the Kohberger trial. 😢

💯Yes! Should be. Probably won’t. Or will be on a delay like Vallow.
