This movie would have done extremely well if it was a little longer and it was released on other platforms like Netflix and Amazon instead of just Apple. Genuinely a good movie.

For those who think a U-boat would not get into a surface battle with a destroyer, google on the destroyer escort USS Buckley versus the U66. Teaser: The crews fought with small arms, shell casings, and coffeemugs, with some of the Uboat crew boarding the Buckley during the battle; altho the Buckley eventually sank the sub, the Buckley had to return to port to get her bow, her stern, a hole in the hull, and a sheared off propeller repaired.

It’s astonishing to me how important this part of the war was yet it’s hardly reflected in the movies. All we really have is Das Boot and Greyhound as the main movies about the U-boat war!

That big Canadian flag as HMCS Dodge (AKA Dickey) passes Grey Hound...a Flower-class corvette. Along with Haida (Tribal Class). How Canada gets so little credit in WW2. We were small but fought like badgers.

One of the best war action movies to be released in recent years, why can’t Apple release it for purchase?

Note One: The U-Boat crews lost something like 35, 000 of 45, 000 men committed to the Battle of the Atlantic. Almost all "Fletcher" class DDs served in the Pacific. The common US DD in the North Atlantic was the "Benson/Gleaves" ASW DD mods, where they gave up the midship 5" and one of the pen tuple torpedo tube mounts for additional "K" guns and DCs. The Hedgehog was usually found on DEs and PFs. Also there wasn't any USN DD named "Greyhound". All USN DEs and DDs built before and during WW2 were named for Navy and USMC heroes.

I am American and my ‘sympathies’ have always been with the ‘Allied’ side of this issue. That said, I have also watched the German made movie, ‘Das Boot’ (or ‘The Boat’)... It was an AMAZING Movie and went a long way toward ‘humanizing’ the enemy... I might even go so far as to say it made them ‘sympa-thetic’... But this movie, I think, reflected more accurately what it must have been like for the U.S. Navy in those very difficult times.
