The word you are looking for for the Prusa design is Cartesian.

I highly recommend to put your electronics (board, PSU) outside the box. It really reduced the lifetime of your components of your printer if they are in too high ambient temperature. And too hot stepper drivers can even skip steps if they become too warm.
