Warren Buffett: Why I'm Not Worried About Climate Change

Warren Buffett hasn't had many opportunities to talk about climate change and his views around the risks associated with it, but in this video, the legendary investor, alongside partner Charlie Munger, outlines why climate change is not something that he is seriously concerned about from an investment perspective.

i work in insurance pricing and I can assure you that the premiums for natural catastrophes linked to global warming have about doubled in the last 10 years or so. The insurers, and Berkshire, are of course still making money, but the risk is much greater than it used to be.

These two are great investors -- at least as long as society stays pretty much the way it does, but they are *way* out of their element when talking about Climate Change.

Climate Change has already killed off many species of amphibians and lizards, the survivors among them able to escape to cooler climates -- either higher altitudes or closer to the poles.

Fungal infections of trees are becoming more widespread as they take advantage of the warmer climates.

So many of these have died, the Sixth Great Extinction event has already started and can no longer be stopped or prevented.

Insisting on business as usual makes Climate Change and the Extinction event worse, no better. Soon it will be so bad it will be hard to keep our own species off the endangered list!

We can all go on investing until we die. Let's make sure we have plenty of time left in which to enjoy and benefit from our investment plans. For that we'll need an environment that supports humans and a benign atmosphere. There's no point otherwise.

I like Buffet but on this perticular topic, I think he is wrong. Climate change has obvious envrionmental impacts on our way of life but also has inflationnary effects. The truth is he'll never get to see the real consequences of his oil investments.

They estimate the amount of water did rise. If we continue did not work on global temperature accuracy. The water in the ocean will vaporizing. More then when it end up lay by lay cloud. These will be huge monsoon that cause flood and billow will come to gulf and shore in land. Those state that has land next to ocean will damage first. Such as Florida. We do keep data and record bad climate. If we request these bad climate we read. It is real rather than the Warren said do not worry right now yet.

Ok Warren here also eats at McDonalds every day and doesn’t care that he will die 5 years earlier because of his diet.
Why people trust him to take care of the economy, if he can’t even take care of his own health, is beyond me.
