Everyone is ignoring what he said “if you’re better at some skills now… you can become incredibly wealthy at a very young age”.

He talked about specialization.

When did people become delusional about history and about earning potential.

There is a reason why people used to work a minimum wage job while going to community college or night school.

I lived it. I didn’t try to live forever on a retail job back in my 20s. I went to community college and started my career. After a few years I used the knowledge to go my own way.

The specialized skills I started learning 25 years ago?

Coding, Graphic Design, Print Production, Photography and Video Editing.

I went into advertising.

We all can look up how much a job, career or industry pays and act accordingly.

People want to raise the minimum wage for the minimum work but what about raising your maximum capacity and ability as individual?

Who is competing for the jobs start at $85, 000? Almost nobody. Everyone is competing for $15/hr because it doesn’t require you to change anything about yourself…

Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

I used to be a hippy that hated on the rich but after seeing the scandal of Wallstreet bets with the GameStop short, I’ve realized that if all 7 billion of us started to manipulate the stock market we could drain these billionaires from all their wealth. But I’ve noticed people are more interested in watching keeping up with the kardashians and scrolling thru their Facebook feed. So now I’m like, nah, these billionaires are winning fair and square.

It’s a slap against the overvaluation of the tech space and crypto. He’s saying that now the average guy has less of a chance at being wealthy unless they devote their time to learn very niche skills and implement them in this market. Working hard no longer is enough.

That being the skill of buying govt support to enable tax credits for your wind farms, and land seizures for power transmission. Skill of insuring the FBI raids the other guys house, or your house. Those kinds of skills.
