Hurricane Helene relief funding up in the air with Congress in break

Federal relief funds for recovery from Helene are in limbo with Congress still in recess. President Biden is pushing for lawmakers to regroup soon as many in the Southeast struggle without power and basic needs. CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion has more.

I say do an executive order since congress isn't doing their job..i also say we need to stop congress from taking so many vacations in a year. Citizens get from 1 week to 3 weeks in a 12 months time. Congress should get the same.

I live in NE Tennessee and I am appalled at the thought !!! many areas of NC and Tennessee are completely wiped off the map the land in these areas are completely changed.forever. There are bodies in many areas laying around on the ground and in trees and congress is out ??? We need change. And don't even ask me about red cross and fema. They should come back early as possible to get this through. These people need help badly. Both sides should work together on this. I have friends and family needing help badly back there, and I already gave $100. I disabled living on both SSI. Had to help, though I have little money to live on compared to most.
