What is with the screw on the outside at 0:15. Does it lock the gpu from removing?

Try that with a full length gpu, a finger won't reach so it's gonna be sketchy time with a screwdriver.

Just shut down and flip the PSU switch.
You don't have to remove any cables from the PC besides the HDMI/DP cable. Everything else is just a waste of time.
