How to Put in Contacts for Beginners | 1-800 Contacts

Putting in your contact lenses is easier than you think! We'll take you through the steps, one at a time.

1. Wash and dry hands thoroughly. Use unscented soap if possible and a lint-free towel.

2. Place a towel over the sink so your lens doesn't fall down the drain.

3. Take one lens out of the box and note which eye it's for. It helps to start with the same eye every time.

4. Put the lens on the pointer finger of your dominant hand. Make sure it's not inside out.

5. Hold your eye as wide open as possible. Lift your top eyelid and pull down your lower eyelid.

6. Look straight ahead and slowly place the lens on to the middle of your eye. Blink a few times to center it.

I think the doctor or someone in the office is supposed to make sure you know how to do this prior to leaving after you have been fitted with contact lenses. At least this happened with me. Am I wrong, or are people sent home with new contacts and told to look at how to insert them on YouTube?

I tried this with out contacts and I was like “nope”. I might need glasses but I don’t like wearing ACTUAL glasses so if I put on contacts, I’ll die, I’m very lazy and will forget to take them out
