In this Blender 2.92 Tutorial I'll show you how to take a 2D drawing and make it into a 3D model!

This is Part 1/2 of this video. In this one I show you some quick basics and how to model your character. In the next part I'll teach you how to UV unwrap, texture, light and render your character.

Hi everyone! A few of you have mentioned that you've found the segment on making the hand a bit too fast to keep up with. Apologies for that! It was my first time making a tutorial so the pacing might not be perfect.

I'm just starting to learn character modelling but this seems like a tutorial that teaches so much more than the others I've followed so far! When I get time I'm gunna follow u through, for now I'll keep watching and listening 👀👀

For anyone stuck on 24:13 do this!
1. make round cube
2. cut cube in half
3. go to object mode press shift s and select cursor to selected
4. do the mirror modifier!
hope this helps!

Look, what you did is absolutely incredible. I've always wanted to try 3d modeling but Blender was too overwhelming to simply look at. You explained wonderfully step by step, with all the hotkeys and a simple cute model without overcomplicating anything. Now Blender isn't scary anymore! Thank you so much!

While all my friends start with a donut, I start with my own character! I was able to change a few things to fit with my human. But goes to show how well made this video is.

When I won't have 6 zillion uni assignments, I will be trying your tutorial. Seems like you wrap up basic concepts that are useful to actually get it done. :3

22:01 the issue with the pupil glitching on the mirrored side can be avoided by scaling and rotating on edit mode instead of object mode. BTW, thanks for the tutorial

Honestly this is probably the most approachable and helpful tutorial I've seen for character modeling that covers all the basics and handy moment-to-moment tricks of actually using the program. Awesome stuff!

This is by far the best tutorial I've seen for blender, still relevant a year later. Went from never 3d modelling to making my first vtuber model in under a few weeks thanks to this!

I have watched tonnes of videos on blender and none of them really make any sense to me. the way you explained it, however, was just *mwah*! i totally get it now!

You are by far the best teacher for soft soft . It's very complicated at first - overwhelming, actually - but, you make it doable for

at point 19:00 you can ctrl+r and then scroll your mousewheel to make more edge loops, that way its evenly distributed.

This is an amazing tutorial! The main advantage of it is not being overwhelming even for novices, so it's very easy to follow it. Thank you so much! It's better to see a complete workflow than trying to match a few dozens little tips.

This is one of the first tutorials that really got me excited about Blender. And now I am getting paid to model some characters! I moved on to more high res sculpting, but for this project, I am using your method shown here. Thank you!
