Σύμφωνα με ξένα μέσα ενημέρωσης και με ανακοίνωση που εξέδωσαν οι Ισραηλινές ένοπλες δυνάμεις, ένα ελικόπτερο τύπου Atalef ή όπως αλλιώς ονομάζεται AS565 Panther, της Ισραηλινής πολεμικής Αεροπορίας, κατέπεσε χθες το βράδυ στη Μεσόγειο θάλασσα, ανοιχτά των ακτών της πόλης Χάιφα, κατά τη διάρκεια εκπαιδευτικής πτήσης.
Στο ελικόπτερο επέβαιναν δύο πιλότοι και ένας παρατηρητής και παρά την άμεση κινητοποίηση και τις τιτάνιες προσπάθειες διάσωσης τους, οι δύο πιλότοι έχασαν τελικά την ζωή τους, ενώ ο παρατηρητής διακομίσθηκε στο νοσοκομείο με μέτρια τραύματα.
Άμεσα ο αρχηγός της Ισραηλινής Πολεμικής Αεροπορίας, διέταξε την προσωρινή διακοπή των εκπαιδευτικών πτήσεων και την χρήση των συγκεκριμένων ελικοπτέρων.
Επιπλέον, όρισε ερευνητική ομάδα με επικεφαλής συνταγματάρχη, για να προβεί στη διερεύνηση του συμβάντος.
Ενός συμβάντος που είναι πολύ σπάνιο για τα δεδομένα των Ισραηλινών Ενόπλων Δυνάμεων, και έτσι όλα τα ενδεχόμενα για το ποια ήταν τα πραγματικά αίτια της πτώσης, παραμένουν ανοιχτά.

According to foreign media and a statement issued by the Israeli Defense Forces, an Atalef helicopter or AS565 Panther, of the Israeli Air Force, last night crashed into the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Haifa, during a training flight.
In the helicopter were on board two pilots and an aerial observer, and despite the immediate mobilization and the titanic rescue efforts, the two pilots eventually lost their lives, while the observer was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The commander of the Israeli Air Force immediately ordered the temporary suspension of training flights and the use of these helicopters.
In addition, he appointed an investigative team headed by a colonel to investigate the incident.
An incident that is very rare for the Israeli Defense Forces, and thus all the scenarios as to what were the real causes of the crash, are possible.
