As an Indian I would like to point out that in the map used to show India, the little island at the very south is not actually India. That island is a nation of its own - Sri Lanka. This may be a small thing but channels with a large viewership must portray the facts accurately. Please correct the error at the earliest. Thank You .

It's funny when you discuss about tropical country, but none of those countries mentioned are on equatorial line.

This video misses a bunch of crucial information and exceptions, as for example most chili peppers species coming from the Mexican region and only available through trade after the XVI century (therefore rendering the evolutionary thesis invalid), as well as South Korea passion for spice (as well as non-tropical parts of China).

Excellent presentation and spot on factually. In the 1980s, a Thai friend of mine explained to me that he marinated all of his meat in pepper and lime juice because in the climate of his country all meat would go rancid within a couple of hours if this process was not applied.

Cheddar was better when it was just a narrator. No offense to this dude but it's distracting cutting to an on camera host every 20 seconds, especially when he's overacting and trying to be really emotive.

No mention of Indonesia despite its position which the equator passes right trough it and its abundance of spicy foods? Come on.

Hhhmmm I watch a lot of other YouTube channels and I have to say I'm noticing a trend. It seems that you all repeatedly have the tendency to remake videos produced by other, and often times lesser established, channels. This video is especially a boiled down version of a video from the Atlas Pro channel, and I know I saw a video on the salt statement recently too. I guess technically no one necessarily has the right to information more than anyone else but maybe do your own research outside of YouTube to find video topics because it's starting to feel like I'm watching plagiarism

Sweating in humid tropical weather don't actually help you to cool down.

I'd love it if these guys put sources for their statistics in the description. Not that other similar channels do it often.

One exception to the equator pattern = Korean cuisine

I live in Korea. A lot of the food is spicy or comes with spicy sauces or side dishes. I find far less spicy things in Japanese or Chinese cuisine than Korean.

We mexicans eat chiles since they are native and widely available. Our native cultures used that fact to their benefit. Most of the chiles eaten around the world can trace their origins to mesoamerican land. Also you are forgetting that prolonged exposure to them helps develop resistance to their effects, and that's why we always win chile tasting challenges wherever we go... And this last affirmation is also personal experience. ¡Buen provecho!
