With GPUs getting bigger and bigger, GPU sag has become a real issue. There are many out there talking about “free” fixes to this but none really work that well so today we are going to show you several real methods for resolving this.

I use provided MSI support bracket with vertical Cooler Master ARGB in tandem. You have to be sure.... and it actually looks pretty cool.

The part of the card that sags is the outer tail, where the power cables typically attach. So that's where the sag should be addressed. The way I do it is arguably a bit janky, but it does exactly what the GPU jack demonstrated here does. I use the empty barrel of an expired ball-point stick pen, cut a few millimeters too short (measured with the card in the desired, non-saggy position) with a self-stick silicone bumper on each end. Just wedge it it between the corner of the card between the fan shroud and the case floor or basement roof. You could also buy a 3/8" or so wooden dowel rod (finished as suits your build) and cut a piece to the right length. The advantages of this method are simple: it's very effective, and it's dirt cheap.

Unless there is a post from ground up on the unsupported side of the gpu all you're doing is adding more weight to the gpu and more stress to the back panel of the case. I'm talking about all those dumb ones you see on Amazon.

The Asus TUF Gaming cards are especially prone to this. My RTX 3060 model is huge considering how "weak" the chip actually is.

9:58 My apologies for correcting you but with the coolermaster vertical mount shown, the lateral adjustment is not so you can move it more toward the center of the case for the sake of appearance... That mount is made for case where the the I/O slots on the rear of the case, have the divider strips in between each slot and that lateral adjustment is so you can move inward for the purpose of fitting your video cable and giving it clearance. Users should after fitting there video cables, slide the video card back to the left as much as possible without having the cable contact the case frame. Some cases have the divider strips cut out as it was in the case shown in the video. However, i bought one of the brackets for my my Corsair 4000D air because the strips were not cut out of that area. 10:29 The coolermaster vertical mount shown is made so you don't have to cut those bars out.

@TechLabUK
i would never under any circumstance push the gpu UP at the right most edge
this will not only push up the whole gpu/pcb it will also twist it and all the stress will be going directly under the gpu die, the risk of killing a gpu with that is just way to high.

Original PCs (1980-1995) laid horizontally. Inline with gravity.

THIS IS A WERY BAD WAY TO FIX GPU SAG..turns out this actually cant twist the wole card and rips the soldering under the die..Gpu fixers all over are reporting on this now.
Vertical mount is the only way to go

I feel it is just time to move to vertical mount as the standard with some universal case fitment. There isn't a whole lot of reason to avoid it any more, it's not like there's a lack of room in cases given most people will run a GPU and at most 1 extra expansion card these days.

Obviously not suitable for all cases but for most it would work fine. It's not like I can see GPUs getting any smaller and lighter, there's a lot of advantage to extremely over-built cooling systems and on balance I think it's worth it.

So there is always case design like the TT tower design where the gpu is always vertical but I chose a cooler master vertical mount and been very pleased with the results

My Asrock Extreme Z690 came with a board-mounted anti-sag arm, but I'm a vert-mounter...it's the thought that counts..😉

I have one of them Phanteks vertical mounts in a Meshify 2, works well and looks great 👍
