I feel that more high end cases, anything over USD$100, should have integrated GPU support brackets.

@JayzTwoCents - years ago back in 2011 I found your Channel and I sent you a friend request so we could start playing Battlefield 3 together. You had maybe a few hundred subcribers then and I got to play with you a couple of times. We never spoke but I wanted you to let you know that your story and your channel inspired me to create my channel and start creating content.

Dude is just cranking away at those cards lol.

"See this sag? We don't want that."
*Proceeds to bounce the card up and down violently

Personally I think the GPU manufacturers should ship each GPU with a GPU Viagra . Problem solved .

My brother's card sagged to a point of not connecting to the mother board. After trying everything I could, including this, and it would still not stop sagging, I said fuck it and just laid the case on it's side. Ez fix.

I'm gonna buy a spiderman figure and make it look like he's hanging from the top of the case and webbing the gpu to take the sag away.

There was waaay to much unnecessary shaking of expensive gpu's.

The wedge you're using for the second set of cards looks a hell of a lot better than the sag stands.

Whether you tighten the traditional screws, or apply Jay's method of screws behind the card, you are stressing the joint between the graphics PCB and backplate. It depends. How much stress do you want to lay off the pcei socket versus the graphics pcb. On the other hand a Suspender and hooks releases all types of stress 😉

This is like root-canal therapy for PC's. They certainly won't enjoy it, but it will benefit them in the long run.

I have to say, I haven't watched your videos in a while simply because the content or advice given seems to have been done to death on other tech channels or older videos of yours. However, this was a genuinely helpful tip: Simple, aesthetic, and well demonstrated. Big thumbs up. This should be the first video that comes up under the youtube search "sagging video card".

This is when having a 3D printer comes super handy :)

Uh physics dude.. if weight is causing it to sag on one end, you don't wedge the other end unless you want to add more pressure to the center. You don't wanna do that with a GPU, because then you're just adding even more pressure to the PCI-E lane. So thats why they sell GPU brackets, because it supports the end where the sag occurs, not the end already supported.

You're just adding more pressure, and thus while your sag may be gone, it's putting more strain on your PCI-E lane.. rip.

There needs to be a rethink on motherboard and PCI-E design.

Oh great--a problem I never knew I had, and now I can't 'unsee' it.

The PCIE slot is still taking all the stress from the weight of the card, I would recommend using this or a similar method for the tabs along with a physical support for the end of the card.
