I have a 8500 and the door isn’t even is this why my alarm keeps going off? The alarm won’t stop, but it is -45 degrees here and I’m waiting for it to warm up so I can fix it. Any suggestions on how to get the cables back on track properly?

I have the same set up. Came home at 4 in the morning to it going crazy and opening and shutting non stop by itself. Shut down power. Getting nothing the next day. No response, no light. Bad circuitboard?

Hello- thanks for this. My system has one problem. I used to be able to press the button and the door would close automatically. No I need to hold my finger on the button until it closes completely. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I had a garage remote stolen out of my car. I have the Liftmaster 8500. How can I wipe out the previous code for the stolen remote and program new ones?

There is no power getting to my control panel. The AC that my opener is plugged into is good. Does the opener have a fuse which may have blown? It's a Model 3800PLD LiftMaster Elite Series.

Where's the cable tension monitor? It's the part that gives me the biggest problems.

One thing that no one tells you even the instructions is that the switch needs to be in tension with the wire. It is supposed to be pulled up and not flush with the mechanism. When it is installed, you should be able to push it down and hear a click. That way, it is always under tension and garage door doesn't roll back up automatically. It was so annoying troubleshooting that one step. Hope it helps.

I own the 8500 too and you’re right, it’s been quite a ride over the years. I did add new springs last year. Every once in a while we have intermittent beeping and the MyQ garage pads aren’t flashing or beeping when I look...that’s happened in the past, though today all I hear is three quick beeps and don’t know what the heck is causing it.

Both our garage doors open and close just fine.
