Your bug out bag or 72 Hour Bag is a crucial component to your emergency preparedness and survival. Learning how to make a bug out bag at home and taking the time to become familiar with your equipment is also crucial.

Especially as Christians, we are called to preparedness, to service. Becoming better prepared for any type of crisis with an emergency bug out bag is just ONE of the steps we should take.

In this video, I go over each item in my bug out bag so you can start to build a bug out bag for yourself and those entrusted to your care!

If you need or use paper maps, I'll pass on a trick I learned as a Boy Scout Leader, take a USGS map or other good quality map and soak it in wood deck preservative, it helps keep the map from getting wet and falling apart in very wet conditions.

One thing that should be in a med kit to help with major wounds, tampons, they're meant to soak up blood and expand when they soak up the blood and therefore are good for packing wounds

Also, if you have small kids, one thing that would be good to put in a go-bag for them is a small comfort item. Cuz for a young kid, running for their lives in a major disaster can be really jarring for them and that one item could keep them in a calm state of mind which as a parent can help keep you calm as well.

About the wipes or toilet paper issue. I keep coin tissue in my pack. They use less room and is better than toilet paper. Use a smidge of water and you have a wet wipe. Add some hand sanitized to it or alcohol and you can sanitize on the go. Just a thought.

added to my first aid kit nail clippers tweezers Q tips . have 1 state map and 3 topo maps of differant areas . i carry a little store that can use fuel tabs or sticks .

Another thing people who are new to owning guns tend to forget is MAINTAINING your weapon... If you practice with it often you need to learn how to clean the barrel, oil it up and do anything to make sure it works properly. Nothing will get you killed quicker in a firefight would be your gun jamming on you leaving you unable to return fire. If you EDC a gun even in it's holster it can get clogged up with dust and debris and it can also rust too. If you are going to the range to practice shoot, unload and inspect the gun before and after use.

Good info! Gold bond not just for food powder, but also for butt and crotch chafe.. chafing can make every. single. step. Be painful .. and on that note, throw in some leukotape to help prevent/ mitigate foot blisters.

Went through survival training in the military unless in a direct danger always stop and think calmly about the situation make a cup of coffee and read over your plan ie. You can keep a written plan in your bag along with a inventory this will help focus on the problem

FYI I studied ems and my buddy went to Afghanistan as SF came back after packing many other peoples bullet holes and his own said the quick clot is a bad idea. The gauss are great the quick clot needs to be cut out by the doctor therefore increasing time of open and aggravated wound. My buddy who knows from experience and myself as a certified firefighter encourage extra gauss to pack like crazy but the quick clot is not helpful for long term golden hour survival.
