It’s…disturbing seeing what these soilders these heros went through in war severe damage loss of friends this was before most mental health problems were discovered in which they didn’t know what these soilders felt

Actually, the second soldier, the first photo takes place after the second.

They used masks to reconstruct his face, I learned about it a few weeks back.

Even though in the second picture Abe Lincoln really only grew a beard you can tell how drained he is and how much of a phycological tole the civil war took on him

1st - he had smallpox during the civil war, hence the skin conditio
2nd- soldier in first picture is already post-war, wearing a pioneering custom made prostethic to restore his face. You can see the scars underneath, in the first picture

My dad was in war and ever since that day, he can still hear the screams and guns in his ears, Bc just imagine. Hearing screams of children, men, women die. He said he had to kill a child that was 14 years old. 😥 He said he remembers bomb's, guns, I'm glad I didn't lose him :)
