I was a US border patrol with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. We had a 15 minute life expectancy if the Soviet Union came through the Fulda Gap. I have seen the Soviet SS20 Ballistic Nuclear Missiles. The only thing that probably kept us alive were the missiles we had pointing back at them. To see them makes you realize how dangerous of a world we lived in. The day I was inducted into the service Saigon fell. The Sabre rattling by President Reagan had the Soviet Union on edge. I was very familiar with Stanislav Petrov and Operation Able Archer which had the Soviet Union concerned that we were going to attack them. We had many exercises near the Iron Curtain with our tanks. The 11th ACR was the tip of the spear. Berlin of course was surrounded. People have the misconception that shots were never fired during the Cold War which is bs! I often heard the mines go off. Sometimes by animals. The Iron Curtain also was mined and had razor blades that would chop off the escaping persons fingers in the event that the mines didn’t work but they clearly did. Growing up during the Duck and Cover years of JFK was a scary time for kids. The world truly does owe Lt. Colonel Petrov the gratitude for saving us all. What’s insane is that many personnel thought we could have a limited nuclear exchange in Europe. Truly insanity. Thanks for sharing the information with your viewers. We also had many terrorist incidents and threats by the Red Brigade or Bader Meinhof Gang. I laid in the snow at Our outpost because of these bombings of our installations. My CAV brothers never received the recognition we deserved and we probably never will. Keep up stacking and Thanks Mike. Peace to us all!

The only question you need to ask yourself is: will government print more currency units? Looking at past performance and governments throughout history in this position, the probability is high that they will. If they do, they debase the currency. Gold throughout history, held its value when governments did this. in all probabilities, gold will do the same long term.
