This is what my brain tells me a lot. But sometimes we just need a break. And it's OK to take a break - however long it has to be. And in this video I'm sharing how I try to deal with these negative thoughts and lack of motivation.

This is NOT a sponsored video. I only mentioned clicker heroes 2, because generally I don’t support dropping hacks like that, but the context here was different, which I wanted to explain. And I thought, if I basically show a hack that kills their business model, I can also be nice enough to mention their other games. It’s an indie dev studio I would like to see to succeed.
Good for you to be sceptical! But German laws would require me to disclose any form of sponsorship and legal trouble is the last thing I would want.
Hope that makes sense!

I cannot even begin to explain how much I relate to that miserable spiral you explained. And not just video games, I can be doing something productive like studying electric guitar and I still feel "guilty". This video helped a lot, great to know there's people out there going through the same shit.

0:09 - 0:16. Is basically what i tell myself every passing day. A very fitting video. I have a number of projects that need completion, a couple of uncompleted programs, not to mention i still have to research content for my youtube channel. There is just too much to do with seemingly very little time, and the little time that i do have always ends up squandered in some useless activities. I hope to do better. I will do better.

I can relate sooo much with this. I always feel like fallling behind but also feel too unmotivated to do anything security related. Thank you for making this video, helped a lot.

I get into this cycle WAY too often. I thank you for publishing this video, it helped me understand I need a little bit more balance and its OK to allow myself to unwind. I can't hack while burnt out and that's how I felt for a long time. I couldn't get motivated to jump back into CTFs/projects again. I feel ready to get off my break and into the grind, this guidance was most needed because I don't want to repeat my last burn out

This advice... It's pure gold!
I took it myself and I learned quite a bit.
A short backstory: was playing Borderlands 2, mainly down to endgame. While the experience points are shown in Quest Log menu, they're not visible on the HUD. This took me to creating a BL2 xp tracking program in c#. While doing this I learnt to use pointers in Cheat Engine, I learnt to invoke WinForms elements from another thread, learnt to properly try and catch exceptions(uni course just touched on that very slightly), and I've started to study on how to read and write to memory addresses in C# without any additional libraries. It's basicly put me down to a rabbit hole of finding more ways to make these new skillsets useful in another ways.

What I want to say is, Thank you, LiveOverflow. This really motivates me. You have earned my subscription.

Thanks so much for making this video. I only recently discovered your Channel and this Video resonated with me. Knowing I'm not the only one who goes through those cycles of depression and demotivating thoughts is uplifting. Keep up the great content

I watched 3 videos of yours and the way you present yourself and your Videos, the way you transfer your knowledge is inspiring. I have to admit I am a spoiled guy with way to high expectations of myself and the spiral you mentioned is a caveat I was trapped in.

I wish I found you earlier, you are a true hero. Subbed 420 times <3

You really have taken inspiration from the survey you handed out a few months ago. I really love the direction of this channel. Thank you for your time and helping beginners out. I wanted to ask a question though, how long do you spend on a hacking project before you realize it's a dead end or above your skill?
