I told you that your way of refuting people seems to be rude and off-putting to many people from Protestants to Catholics. All you need to do is look at the Lectionary for the Assumption, and compare Luke 1 to 2 Samuel 6, even the psalm used for the feast is relevant to the Assumption

I am wondering how would Dr. Ortlund explain that the non-chalcedonians also venerate the assumption of our mother and the most holy Virgin Mary. Just take a look at the pictures of the procession that took place in Durunka, Assiut in 2018 (article´s title: Coptic Egyptians Celebrated the Assumption of The Virgin Mary), where hundreds or thousands of people (Copts and Orthodox Ethiopians) gathered to celebrate this feast. How can Dr. Ortlund ignore this? If the oriental orthodox churches schismd in mid 5th century, this means this tradition is much much older, since it is impossible that after the schism they would adopt something from the catholic church. And this is true for other doctrines as well, like the Eucharist. Howcome we do not see a single church father, a single council or anybody or anything protesting that this is idoltary. Why this striking silence?
