1 Week Out From My First Triathlon: Ironman Lake Placid

Показать описание
After approximately 10 months (mainly 4-6 months) of giving my training everything I could, I'm now just a week out from my first triathlon, which is Ironman Lake Placid.
I've finalized all my gear, got my new helmet, and race day shoes, and just bought a new wheelset, so I'm all prepped and ready for race day!
I would say that I had three stages in my training block. The first 4 months were just the intro. I had a stress-fractured foot so I wasn't able to run and was just learning how to bike and swim. I didn't take anything too seriously as my foot was healing.
The next 3 months was when I went to Tucson and trained for 3 months. My diet wasn't anything great as I cheated a lot and didn't have real workouts. I just tried to get as much volume as possible there, however, I did join an excellent swim program that I think helped elevate my standards and swimming a ton... I had the opportunity to be in the pool with some of the best in the world.
The last 4 months is when I would say I really dialed in. I didn't have any cheat meals (well, one), I got a coach (TriDot) and only missed 4 training sessions due to injuries. This is where I saw huge increases in my training and really happy with how far I've come in under 1 year.
The work has been put in, now it's time to show up on race day and put my best foot forward. All I can control is how I do and finish, so it's up to me.
