3 of my favorites made the list! Freddy's, Teriyaki Madness, and MOD Pizza. Very nice.

This is a great series! Tatte is local to Boston, like us and they are the REAL deal. Our only complaint would be the flour that they use to bake many of their pastries and baked good are from industrialized roller-milled flour. For us at One Mighty Mill, stone-milled flour will always remain superior with denser nutrition and better flavor!

I can definitely vouch for Habit. I love Habit Burger! The tempera green beans with boom sauce is my fave side. I like their seasonal burgers...my go to is a double charburger w/ cheese. The lazy dog in my area is always busy, but they're a good alternative to the BJ's/chillis/etc. I've had MOD pizza a couple times...I think they're better than Blaze, but slightly below Pieology.

We just got a Freddy’s about a mile from me. Pretty good burgers.
We have a few of the others close, but I’ve never heard of them. Think I’ll check them out. 🤷‍♂️

MOD Pizza is pretty legit. One flat price for any toppings you want on your pizza. Thin crust, made, and fired in front of you. Pretty quick turn around time. Honestly the biggest wait is not from making the food but the line of people ahead of you.

The Habit is absolutely top class in Southern California, though I can't speak for all these terrible franchise locations I've been hearing and reading about in other states.
As someone who has grown up on In-n-Out Double-Double, I can vouch that The Habit's burgers are the best balance between taste, quality, vs cost for fast-casual burger.
Their Portabella Char should be branded a controlled substance--it's so addictive I always end up grabbing a second order even though one is enough.
That topping combo of plump roasted slices of portabella mushroom, caramelized onions, and garlic aiioli spread on top of melted white cheese is simply unbeatable.

I've been to the Habit and also MOD . both are pretty good. Never heard of the others though.

We have Freddys, Tropical Smoothie and Chick Salad Chick and dont mind a few more, replacing the ones that had their day long ago. What we do want is quality that aligns with price tag. All the others have now doubled their prices in the last 3 years and lowered the quality, smaller portions, poor ingredients, tasteless, now made and served by those making $15 an hour with job performance like they are making .15 an hour. I no longer go to ANY chain restaurant, local only. Want my money to stay local. I would like to see that become the norm. We need about 85% fewer corporate run restaurant chains littering our landscape as they are a main cause of diabetics, obesity, poverty, food ignorance and corporate greed that blight our nation now.

In my city (Carbondale, Il), we've had a Freddy's for a couple of years (a great addition since Steak & Shake closed), and a MOD Pizza for a few years.

Tropical smoothie cafe smoothies are good. It looks expensive. Walk into a grocery store and look at the prices. Worth it if you want a taste and don’t have a juicer and cheap way to get fruits or vegetables.
