The left flank, center, right flank system actually makes me think of Crusader Kings 2's combat since they had the same setup.

Ludi, what you said in the beginning of being able to choose the "weapon" of the regiment. I think it will apply, kinda. Because they said there will be many kinds of units. And those units could be people armed with bows, swords, lances, flintlocks. Because there will be the "production methods" for the buildings that you will create in order to create regiments. So while they may not differenciate the goods, being weapons for all of units, for example, the more powerful units probably consume more material. So if your economy can't handle 10 k flintlocks units, you may create 5 k flintlock units and 5 k archers, for example.

I think that they said that the tick will move per hour, because there are many more, smaller locations on the map compared to EU4 and days are just not precise enough. But the system will be exactly the same as EU4, but because the map is made out of smaller location, you need to have more frequent ticks to get the same level of control as in EU4. At least that is how I understood it. I didn't see anything suggesting you could actually manage the your troops at the unit level during the battle like total war.

We could call it a character's power level to make Johan happy. The power level impacts the amount of mana - uh, I mean Ki - a character has.

I’m glad they’re making warfare more alike imperator, i think a lot of people simply don’t play late game eu4 because army management is hell

I actually dont think that paradox will let us do anything to our units mid-combat, as paradox themselves said, they choice of hourly ticks is explained by reduced province size, meaning that you probably are able to travel through multiple provinces within a single day which requires to adopt hourly ticks instead of daily ticks. Management of battles is also very difficult to imagine or do, especially when there are several battles going on at the same time and/or in multiplayer.

I love how they're taking inspiration from older titles like March of the Eagles

I love how imperator is used as a good example so many times, yet, its mostly abandoned and still the most underated game from paradox.

Ludi, "Płock" should sound a bit like "Puotsk". In Polish, you roughly say each letter separately (except these: 1) "rz" like French "j", 2) "sz" like "sh", 3) "cz" like "ch" in "chat" and 4) "ch" is "h")

21:05 you can, and Johan knows you can, because that IS the plan. The purpose of this change is to not let you teleport a good general from Spain to China and back every 5 seconds
Though, only 1 year of cooldown shouldn't be that much of a problem...

Not the same combat system as Vic 3?
Praise the heavens for this blessing

"Almost a copy of eu4"
That's the only thing I wanna hear, to hell with Vicky 3

The best part of hour ticks is combat not taking weeks and allowing enemy armies from across their country to reinforce.

What I really really want (but is probably a bridge too far) is to *actually* be able to pull off a Cannae and encircle your enemy's army if you have a god-tier general and better flanks even if your centre is weaker and outnumbered. Having flanks who hopefully can wheel around, smash into the sides of your enemies' centre and scatter/break his reserves is already an enormous step forward compared to EU4's "two static lines shooting at each other WW1-style" system though, so as long as the flanks can actually, you know, FLANK, I will be beyond happy.

I’ve been saying for years that the ultimate strategy game would have the character elements of CK, the nation managing and balance elements of EU, and the battle elements of Total War series.

Seriously I would pay 100$ without hesitation.
