One criticism I definitely agree with is that it felt like the season needed more room to breathe. If Disney wants their live action Star Wars shows to be more in the prestige format (short seasons, high budget), then they need to embrace the runtime of the format too. It seems they have something against 60 min runtime for TV shows. HotD gives its episodes far more runtime and is way better for it, but sometimes, it can still feel like it is rushing through things. It may also be that a lot of these SW TV shows were once movies converted into shows, but I don't think that's the case for The Acolyte.

I think they're probably going to say his experiments let him live longer. I think Tenebrous's death and things before that, has already happened. Qimir seems to be Plagueis's apprentice and either Qimir has been tasked with making Mae or Osha become dark siders because they're made by the Force and Plagueis wants to learn about that or experiment on that.

Or, Qimir is just a dark sider that happens to be now training Mae and then Osha. Tenebrous could have tasked Plagueis to go and see what's happening with this other powerful dark side presence.

Or something even more convoluted. Qimir is Venamis. He was trained by Vernestra, fell to the Dark Side, trained by Tenebrous and has been experimented on. Explaining how he seems to tell Osha he's older than he looks

Not to mention 8 or 10 Jedi die and no one from the council can tell? They went to Naboo for Qui Gon's funeral but have no clue all of these other Jedi (most of which were together) die at the same time??

The wild part I only just thought of is how in Legends, Luke begins using a shoto specifically to counter a light whip from Lumiya. If MY Jedi master had fuuuucked me up with a light whip, I would absolutely incorporate a hidden shoto into my lightsaber combat, as well as a helmet that can block my presence from her specifically

Also, in legends Plagueis didn't think much of the rule of two anyway. I think his wording was that he and many other Sith didnt honor it anyway since he (and others) think that rule has expired.

The Mae/Osha/Witches stuff didn't work at all. Maybe it was the poor acting or the writing, but the show would have been much stronger focusing on literally everything else. Sol and Qimir were excellent. They could have focused on Sol and Indara and the band of Jedi and revolved everything around that to tell their story. There was some good potential but it needed better direction. Maybe it'll improve in season 2 - seems like they're setting up for more of the same though.
