iPhone Battery Health is a hot topic amongst iPhone users but it's not necessarily something you should obsess over and check daily. However, it is important to keep an eye on it every once in a while, especially after giving it a chance to re-calibrate after a software update.

But anyways, in this video, I wanted to share 7 of the biggest mistakes I made that lead to 88% battery capacity in just 6 months on my iPhone 13 Pro. I'll share the mistakes and what you should do instead so that you can learn from them. Enjoy!

What's your current battery capacity?

Pro tip: don’t stress yourself trying to keep your battery health high. Just enjoy your phone, use it however you like, just get the battery replaced when it’s below 80%. Or if you upgrade each year, health should not be a problem anyway, as you don’t go lower than 80% in a year anyway.

Pro tip: Turn off your phone, put it in a safe, forget the code to open it and never use it again. that's going to save you 100% of your battery life so you can resell your phone (that you never used) after a couple of years at a higher price (that's still a fraction of the original)...

I see so many people getting anxiety over their battery health. Just use your damn phone. Replace the battery as it gets near 80% health. Life is way to busy to sit there wondering when I should charge or use my phone. It doesn’t cost an arm or a leg. Just reduce a few trips to starbucks and you will have that money,

The main points here are not letting the battery get too hot for too long, and not letting the battery get low as often as you can (I'd say 25%).

Another tip I have is to mount your phone on the back of an air vent with AC on when you use waze/google maps in car. It keeps the internals cool.

The battery health on my iPhone 11 is at 88% at the moment. I've had it for more than 2 years, and it's just had a slow decrease in maximum capacity (completely normal, since rechargeable batteries degrade with usage). Throughout my time using this phone, I've just charged it every night whenever I go to sleep. It's a major benefit to my usage, as I get to have a full day of usage from 100% in the morning, to a respectable lower amount in the morning. While I don't get the same battery life as I used to get, it's not that big of a deal, as my iPhone 11 never dies. So just using a phone normally, and having it charge at night is probably the best method to conserve your battery health for the long run, as it's consistent for people who use their iPhones frequently.

I tried the battery health shortcut. I’ve had my phone for 175 days and only gone through 159 cycles. But the battery health still says 100%

Lol so in other words, buy a super high end phone and turn everything off or don't use it lol. I think not letting the battery reach to 0 is the one the causes the most trouble and heat. The other ones have a very small impact. I also use the 5w charger to avoid it overheating, which he did not mentioned in the video, but the faster you charge, the more heat it will generate and degrade battery.

I had 100% battery health on my 12 Mini for almost 7 months, and then it dropped to 94% in one month, it still gets the same screen time as it did with 100%, but damn it hurts me to see that number.

I think having 2 chargers 1 fast (20 or 30W) and 1 slow (5W) is the best combo. Slow charging overnight and if you are running low on battery on a heavy day just plug in the fast one for a quick juice up. Specially helpful when you're travelling.

I get the best battery life by keeping it on the charger as much as possible. Batteries are good for so many cycles, so to minimize cycles keep it fully charged all the time. I used my original SE for 4 years and sold it with 99% health. Keeping it at 80% is BS. I tried that on my new SE and I lost 6% health in 3 months. I went back to keeping it fully charged and it hasn't lost any more health in 2 years.

I think heat makes the biggest difference. My 13 Pro has 319 cycles and I'm still at 97%. Maybe it's also the fact that I've almost exclusively used the MagSafe Battery Pack and kept my phone charged around 90%.

Mine’s at 81 cycles, thanks for this tip. I got my iPhone 13 in December 10 last year. Battery percentage is at 98% - I don’t let it go below 10 and don’t charge it to 100% oftentimes, 80-98 is more than enough for my daily use.

I never changed any settings, I charge my phone to 100% all the time, my phone got hot multiple times, and I use my phone for everything, 5.5-6.5 hours of screen on time every day. I’ve had it - the iPhone 11 Pro - since release day, and I’m at 90%.

Wow!!! Now I know why my battery health is at 91% already after 6 months of used! Thank you so much for your tips and videos.
I’ll try to use more low power mode and optimize my battery charge cycles

I’ve had my iPhone 12 for a couple of years now and it’s still at 100% battery health. I guess I’ve been lucky.
