One thing out of many I always like to bring up when it comes to "would "they" keep it secret from us" is the following;

Fifty years ago already satellites were already capable of recording every single small light difference happening in an entire city in real time. Every car backfiring (shows the age, as cars don't really backfire any more), people turning on/off the lights on their porch, even lights turning on/off inside of buildings, etc etc every small light difference, AND including, the kicker to this story; every gunshot, again also including those happening inside of buildings were some of the lightflash is able to get outside.

Why is that the kicker to the story? I've never ever ever heard of satellite data being used to prevent/solve murders/crime in any way, shape or form. The technology is ABSOLUTELY there, but it's not used openly for the public good at all.

Well then let me share a story I saw on the CBC in Canada a few decades ago about an inventor that accidentally discovered antigravity. When he went public the government raided his place and stole his research. Years later an individual who worked for a defence corporation met the same inventor and said “hey I have seen you before, did you have a video of antigravity”? Then went on to describe the label on the video tape which was made by the inventor who had recorded his anti grav effects.
Yes it has been rediscovered, and yea the government stole it and hid it from the world.
