Gianmarco Soresi is a stand-up comedian, actor, and a little too much for some people. He’s told jokes on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Central, Netflix’s Bonding, Don’t Tell, The Real Housewives of New York for some reason, and he was a JFL New Face in 2022. He’s acted in Billy Crystal’s Here Today, Hustlers, The Last OG, and in his theater days shared the stage with some people who’ve gone on to become huge real estate agents. I was one of the techies who didn’t often have the money on him to buy his own lunch cause I didn’t have a job and my parents, while we were rather well off, often didn’t have the spare cash either (a lot of money went to paying off the home stuff). I still thank the actors and other techs who made sure I had something to nibble on before the show.

Science is unfortunately not free of raging narcisists. I have a friend who quit a research management position after family leave because it turned out that being a stay at home foster parent to a traumatized toddler and dealing with CPS was less exhausting than emotionally managing a bunch of researchers with Harvard degrees.

I asked my drama teacher back in high school for advice for applying to drama schools for university. She asked me if I had ever considered stand-up. I genuinely don't know if it was a compliment or an insult. Though seeing as I was one of only five students in her graduating class and the only one who auditioned for the school musical out of those five, who also didn't get a part in it even though her previous graduating class were guaranteed main parts - I'm leaning towards insult.
