Man Can’t Taste or Smell 3 Months After Getting COVID-19

As thousands of patients recover from COVID-19, for some, one medical issue is still lingering. Matt Newey was Utah’s 78th recorded case of COVID-19. He was diagnosed in March, but after all this time, he still can’t taste or smell anything. To him, everything tastes like cardboard! Newey’s doctors told him there may have been some brain inflammation that may have put pressure on the part of the brain that processes smell and taste. As a result of his lost appetite, Matt has lost 20 pounds. #InsideEdition

I had those symptoms for like 5 days it’s gone away now tho, EDIT: I had test positive for corona virus lasted for about 2 weeks, it was bad first 4-5 days. Hardcore fever first 2 days, then came the chills, body ache, head ache, trouble breathing and sore throat. Then one day I felt normal and then it hit me again. Then taste and smell were lost, and my throat was inflamed and felt like razor blades when I swallowed.... it is awful but it can be endured. I’m recovered now tho I have never felt better, it’s not as bad as it seems... if anything the financial status is more worrying than a little sickness....

We as a family were so blessed during that time. The rest of our family living with him did not get Covid. Our nerves also made it through our Utah 5.3 magnitude earthquake the same day he was tested. Glad that is over!

The worst part is that while the taste is gone, the craving and memory of taste still remains. Truly awful.

Update: I lost my sense of smell and taste too and I can’t taste anything but I can feel the burning sensation and the heat 💀

i have the same thing rn. symptoms since march 20th with little to no improvement. the best thing that’s happened is getting a glimpse of the smell of essential oils, but now everything slightly tastes like flowers which is disgusting🤢. hoping it gets better for everybody soon
