Rumors are circulating that Russia is planning another mobilization in the spring, and it will likely rely heavily on conscription as Vladimir Putin continues his quest to conquer Ukraine. So middle-class Russian citizens of fighting age could find themselves facing the battlefield with only a few weeks of training. At least they will be armed, right? Check out today's insane new video to find out why Putin is arming his soldiers with fake gear.

5:18 - "Soldiers who are hit by bullets while wearing it often sustain blunt force trauma, causing painful bruises or even broken ribs, which kinda defeats the purpose of body armor."

Actually, that is the purpose of body armor. Personally, if I have the choice between a bullet in my chest or some broken or bruised ribs, I take the broken or bruised ribs.

I feel sorry for all the normal people caught up in this madness.

There's a difference between having a strong military and making it look like you have a strong military.

I had so many debates with people at the beginning of the invasion about how long this war will take. People kept saying Russia will take Ukraine in a few months, I kept telling people it'll be a war of attrition; it's gonna go on for at least a couple years if Russia wants to be stubborn. Here we are... well past a few months now. The only people that agreed with me back then were fellow veterans that learned a lot in the GWOT.

As I recall, a lot of the Soviet population also agreed with and supported the intervention in Afghanistan, in 1979... That is, until hundreds of zinc-lined coffins were shipped back home, every month.

And they didn't suffer a fraction of what have in the past 12 months.

Armor that gives you a broken rib instead of a hole in your chest is effective body armor. It isn't pleasant, but the purpose of the armor isn't defeated.

In Soviet Russia, you protect body armor.

One of the craziest things that happened was I was talking to my uncle about how S.TA.L.K.E.R 2 is being made by a Ukrainian developer and that they could end up being killed in the war, the next day I see an article about one of the devs dying in combat

As a person who plays airsoft every weekend. It’s not hard to notice what is real body armor and what’s a replica. Most replica vests cannot even hold the armored plate that actual body armor holds.

There's no money to buy real gear because the officers embezzled it all! We've been over this already, but still entertaining AF!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I remember the movie lord of War, where the arms dealer after the fall of the ussr went to an old Russian base and basically fleeced AK rifles by the tens of thousands and was doing it for a decade atleast. I guess that's why their cold war stocks are so low...

It’s crazy that they keep fighting for pretty much nothing except false lies and a little man’s life vile ego.

My friend in Ukraine spotted Russians outfitted with obr.69 uniform last summer. We don't know what to make of it, if they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel in equipment or if this was some kind of separatist militia or what. For those that don't know, obr.69 is a very old uniform like what you see in movies like the Red Dawn with Patrick Swayze.

Paraphrasing "this body armor is bad as when its hit the user gets a lot of blunt force trauma from the impact". I would say it works, its not moderns armor but the man is alive. That's what body armor is meant to do, the soldier is now alive cause he was wearing it.

Ukraine may have had an untested military, but what they did have was one trained by NATO for 5+ years. Ukraine is still standing today because their training was just plain better. From officers to infantry, they have just had better training for some time now.
