I'm visiting St. Petersburg with my boyfriend in May and honestly, this is exactly the kind of places we plan to go to eat in order to save money, but also to get a more local feeling. Like someone said already, fancy places are the same everywhere! I definitely wouldn't consider this a waste of time as the place looks clean and the food tasty. I did a Grand Tour of Russia just last year, 2018. How I wish I'd have seen your channel before my trip!!! St.Pete's my fav place, not just for the amazing sights but absolutely the best people... so much fun and White Nights never to be forgotten :)))

In America that would be a cafeteria, because you pay by the plate/item of food and drink. A buffet is different, at a buffet you pay a set price and you can eat has much has you want. Golden Corral (a chain restaurant in the USA) a buffet. I don't think there are many cafeteria's left in the USA most have been replaced by fast food restaurants and food courts.
