Just to clarify: I am aware that the real reason why the Darth Vader and Obi Wan fight in A New Hope being “anti-climatic” action wise was due to limited special effects back then. However, the indepth context from books used to supplement the fight later on did a fantastic job by giving an in-universe explanation that, in my opinion, makes the fight far more interesting once you better understand Darth Vader as a character and how much damage Obi Wan truly inflicted on him (not only physically but also mentally) from their first duel.

This makes so much damn sense. It makes the slow fight on the death star really shine as opposed to being "anti-climatic". I've learned a lot about kendo in the last few years but haven't watched ANH and watching Vader use a defensive kenjutsu stance makes me realize how much more genius these movies are than I previously thought.

Great video, I knew what you were talking about when when you described their duel. I think it's sad that people pretty much force you to say you already knew that the fight was done with low effects.
