In this video I show you how to install A Frost King insulation kit. I have done this for the past couple of years every winter in my house and truly believe I save a bunch of money on heating costs. As soon as I install this plastic insulation on my windows the room feels so much warmer. I hope this video and insulation kit helps you save some money this winter!

If you make a frame out of 2 x 2 wood and then stretch the plastic both front and back you can make it so that it fits tightly inside your window and creates a double vapor barrier. If you use clear plastic you can still get light through the window. You can take it out anytime you want and put it back without any problem. I’ve been doing this for years in Utah and I have never once turned on the heater since I moved here in 1989

I can vouch that this works well on saving energy and keeping the house warming. My late husband did this to our attic "door" in the ceiling going down to the basement. It sure helped from that cold air coming down. Now my windows are old, so I should do this, but I would probably be to hot. lol Thanks for a great tutorial on how this is done. Such a great help for so many.

I have been doing basically the same thing with shower curtains and painters tape. It is super cheap, and the tape comes off easily in the spring!

For anyone wondering how to not spend two hours trying to peel the backing off the tape, fold the end of the tape onto itself and pull it off of itself. It will make life soooi much easier

I plan on putting the doubled sided tape on. First remove the top section of doubled sided tape. Put the plastic on and secure it in place. Then move to the left side. Remove top section of tape and secure the left side of the plastic. Then do the same on the right side. Lastly, remove the tape on the bottom and secure the bottom of the plastic. That way it won't stick to any area that you are not working with.

This video is great and all the comments too. As someone with big ol' windows, its good to know I'm not alone with this problem. Something I've done is to use blinds, not shades, and heavy blackout drapes on a rod outside the wall trim. Then you can open and close as needed. My biggest trouble now is my neighbors use of old wood stove that comes right in and makes my bedroom smell like a campfire

Just repaired/covered a hole in a small window that has bothered me for 5 years or more. Peeled off the clear boxing tape that I tried to patch up with, followed your directions, and have a window that does not look bad. At least far better than a patch work of old tape that gathered dust and dirt. Plus it will keep the warm air in, cold air out. If only I knew about this Years ago ! Thank You !!

I have a HUGE bay window I have to do this to for the winter. I would and always wanted a settee there to sit and enjoy the view of my pond while I have my coffee. To bad you aren't close!! Lol. I'd LOVE that! Thanks for another great video! 😊🤗

This is so cool! A lot better than having to put the thick plastic up on the outside of your windows. When we first moved to Georgia thirty-three years ago, that's what we had to do in this house we were renting. Pain in the butt, lol!

How do you take the tape off in the spring? Does the tape come off easily? Or does it leave a sticky residue?

Mr. Fixer, I want to thank for showing. I've always wanted to know how and your illustration is a God sent. Thank you again.

Pure Genius! I went on Amazon before the video was order and got mine. I like how it keeps visibility out of the window. Plus, not as expensive as I Thought!

How is it with taking it off in the spring? Will it damage the frames? And the water collection (condensation) over winter, any tips of what to put by the window before taping it off?

You can use bubble wrap against the glass no DBL side tape

I have old wooden windows with exterior removable screens. I just do this tape/plastic/hair dryer option to the screen and insert it as usual. It works great. Then I don't have to clean off the ugly double sided tape off later and I have full use of the window shade.

Hopefully sealing of windows will help me at my house. House has no working heat landlord is determined the base board heat works but they don't produce heat when turned on. Our heaters we bought help but we can't run too many heaters down stairs because 3 of the rooms on one breaker. We choose to keep the bedroom warm, But our kitchen living Room bathroom and hallway are ice cold. I don't think it helps that some of the windows are broken from previous tenants. Can't wait for summer.
Thanks for the tutorial!

But the shade is down now for the entire winter. What if you put the plastic up first. Then put the shade back on, so your free to raise it, and let some sun in. Which also saves on heating
