ℹ️ ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
Most people are surprised to hear that I have not been an athlete my whole life. Far from it.

I was talked into taking my first CrossFit class after months of persuasion.

My first workout completely surprised and destroyed me.

And... I went all-in from day one. (not recommended).

In this video - I share about my journey from walking into a CrossFit gym overweight and unhealthy at 38 to winning back-to-back championships at the CrossFit Games.

Learn from my experience, including the mistakes I made, and be inspired to chase and accomplish your specific dreams!

I really appreciate the insight you give on being an older athlete in Crossfit. I started back in May. You’ve been a great resource for me. Turning 50 next week and seeing some gains. No desire to compete, but we’ll see as my fitness improves. Keep up the good work bro and thank you.

I just found CrossFit 5 weeks ago and I have fallen in love with the energy it brings 😊 I’m 39 and I’m on my journey of becoming fit again.
Your story is so inspirational ❤️

Enjoyed the video. Congrats on your journey and accomplishments--you have definitely put in the effort and paid your dues!!! As a 67 year old guy, I'm just starting gym workouts, and my goals are more modest: aerobic fitness as measured by VO2 max, and enough strength training to both avoid sarcopenia and effortlessly doing ADLs (activities of daily living), etc. Adequate nutrition, limiting (or eliminating alcohol) and building in rest days seem very important to achieve optimum health, so I really appreciate the steps you took to be the champion you are. Keep up the good work!

Very impressive Jason. Well done man, I wish you nothing but the best. Amazing dedication and discipline. Glad you didn’t put yourself in the “I’m too old to start” basket 🤜🏻🤛🏻

Your early journey in crossfit is exactly how mine started. First month I went all in and did an old injury in my shoulder and couldn’t lift a thing and since then I have recovered and altered my training to 4 days a week mixed with cardio in my off days. Loving my journey so far and so good to listen to your journey.

As a 34 year old who spent 12 years as a competitive powerlifter before moving to CrossFit, I needed this video. Thank you. I’m currently 225lbs at about 12% bf trying to get back down to 205. My mobility is a huge issue for me, strength on the barbell is not a problem, but cardio and mobility are definitely my weak points. You’ve got a new follower, keep it up!

Jason! Thank you so much for the advice. I am 37 and started CrossFit 11 months ago. I have battled the thought of feeling too old to take it as seriously as I want to. I truly wish I found CrossFit sooner! I love it.
I am making gains and am encouraged that it isn’t too late. Your discussion on eating and sleeping are on point. Thanks for keeping it real.

Glad to hear you're doing so well! I hit 40 last month but have now started being able to see my abs for the first time in my life – and it feels amazing! 😁 (Working out since 2016)

Hi. Your story inspired me and gave me a motivational boost. I'm trying to get fit again with 58...it might sound crazy but I'm dreaming of competing at the games... For the moment I'm like struggling with almoast everything: food... Alcohol... Regular and consistent training.... But I am willing and I am doing "baby-steps" towards my goal... Thanks for motivating... Greetings from Germany 👍

Great story man!
I’m 37, and I have since July last year changed my program. Not a specific Masters program. But less volume. Feeling great! Feel more fit.
Best Open performance I’ve ever had this year. Not quite top 10% yet. But I’m getting there.
