How Thick Is A Skin Graft⁉️ #shorts

Показать описание
Skin graft surgery typically involves removing a piece of skin from one area of the body (donor site) and transplanting it to another area (recipient site) that has been damaged or lost skin due to injury/burns/surgery. The #skingraft is typically taken from an area of the body that is hidden (inner thigh, buttocks, abdomen) and then carefully placed onto the #recipientsite
.
During the #skingraftsurgery the donor site and recipient site are both carefully prepared to ensure the best possible outcome. The graft is then secured in place with sutures or staples and covered with a dressing to protect it while it heals. Over time, the new skin will integrate with the surrounding tissue and provide a natural-looking and functional replacement for the damaged or lost skin

If you were wondering why it never looks normal, the lower layers of your skin will not be regenerated from scratch. That is the outermost layer of your skin

That animation of the potato peeler running up the leg made me physically squirm in my chair. 😳

Hey kids....you see this right here? This is what you get when you and your cute girlfriend ride your motorcycle in tshirts and shorts. Skin grafts are not nearly as much fun as your think that they are. Wear all the gear all the time.

When she was 2, my cousin had this done to her multiple times in order to cover 3rd degree burns. I can't even imagine the pain.

We’ve actually been able to use fish skin & other animal skins for grafts as well & found some heal & mesh better with human skin, than human skin grafts.

I was taught (by a uncle) that if you badly mess up your skin they’ll just take piece of your butt and patch it😂

Have you experienced skin grafting across a cut or incision using either a hyperdermic or needle?

I had a teacher who had a skin graph on his arm and would tell all kinds of exaggerated stories explaining it. Bear attack, protecting students from explosion, etc, but he would only tell the true story at the end of the year. He had gotten in a car accident after a party and gotten in his friend's car when they were all drunk (including the driver) he had used his arm to protect his face. He was the only conscious one, and he went to the nearest doorstep asking for help before fainting. The worst part was that the surgeon was his dad, an he knew his dad would be disappointed hearing what happened.

A buddy of mine was welding on a diesel trailer. Ended up blowing up and blowing the wall of the barn he was in out behind him. Skin grafts on most of his body from the waist up. Took it all from his thighs. The skin graft isn't the worst part. It's the staples that they hold it on there with.

When they take the graft, unlike in the clip, skin is still visible from where it was taken .
It looks like a mild scratch and heals without scarring .

I had a friend in high-school and when he was like 6 he was on a lawn mower with his dad when he bounced out, downhill. Well he landed practically under the lawn mower. Major major parts of his left leg and parts of his right were skin grafts but he grew so fast while it healed that you can see how the skin was cut to create more surface area.

Came along way since my grandpas skin graft. The sewed his arm to his abdomen and then cut it off when it healed and he had a big ol blob on his arm the rest of his life.

Would stem cell therapy be beneficial in making the graft thicker?
