Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has “largely stalled on all fronts,” British defence chiefs said on Thursday.

They stressed that Russian forces were making “minimal progress” on land sea or air and were continuing to “suffer heavy losses”.

As the conflict entered its fourth week, they also stressed that Mr Putin’s troops had failed to seize any major cities despite the heavy bombardment of Mariupol, Kharkiv and other cities which has destroyed whole districts, according to footage and reports.

I don’t see any American base’s being put there anytime soon so I’d say Russia is meeting its objectives on all fronts.

every day the offensive is stalling according to msm..This morning the BBC said the offensive on Keiv had stalled only to say a few seconds later it was "inching ever closer to the heart of the city"..

It hasnt stalled. Its entering a different phase. That of mopping up. Ukraines military, airforce, air defense is by and large destroyed. What you have left now are pockets of Ukranian infantry moving into the cities to fight a street by street battle hoping to inflict large causalties on the Russians. This tactic however will only result in the cities being destroyed and large civillian casualties.

This is meaningless honestly.

A stalemate like this creates a battle of attrition and such a battle is how Russia can win.
The results of a decisive battle are what will become important in the short term results of the war.

Long term, i personally think Putin is in checkmate. He lost the moment this all started and didnt go his way.
